There are a couple of differences between the schedule in the first post and the schedule on the Nur Ein website (mostly rounds 0 and 5). I'm guessing the Nur Ein website is the schedule to follow?

I'm not trying to be pedantic or anything, it's just that a 9:01pm PST Saturday deadline and a 9:01pm PST Sunday deadline are significantly different things for some of us nine-to-fiver shlubs.

Wow, Saturday night deadlines, that's brutal. I guess that's better than Friday night deadlines though! ;)

On the subject of the posted schedules, I'm looking at the schedule in the first post of this thread and wondering why there is a one-day lag between the songs being submitted and the judges starting their judging?

Saturday night?
That's gotta be an error.

It's always Sunday night.

Is Mike updating that site while you update the boards or something? If separate people are going to update the boards and the Web site seems like maybe some more coordination is in order...?

Hope I can do this. I have just been offered a job that will require me to go to outback Queensland on a 10 day on/4 day off roster. That will make Nur Ein (and any sort of social life) pretty much impossible. But am also waiting to hear about a 9-5 job in town, which will be far more civilised.

But, the only thing suckier than working...is not working

Jumping in, as I'm wont to do - There are five hats hanging in the judge-cave (judge-hole?). That'd be me, Heuristics Inc, Spintown, Andy Balham and Manhattan Glutton ... (co-incidentally also the best boy-band line up ever)

Okay the schedule on the website has changed a little, now it's 9:01pm PST Sunday deadlines for rounds 0, 1, 2, 3 and 5, and 9:01pm PST Saturday deadline for rounds 4, 6 and 7.

Hi Jerky,

So I'm looking at your attachment and only seeing Sundays and Mondays ... is it a date thing (i.e. round 4, May 14 is a Saturday not a Sunday)? I am not being rude, I'm just trying to get my head round what you're saying. I can't speak for the NE Hive Mind but I would say go with the Sundays and don't worry about it?

Sorry, that's not much help, I realise ...

I think what you are missing is that 12:01 Sunday is one minute after midnight Saturday night. I often make this same mistake every year.
So what I think the above is saying is that titles will be announce one minute after midnight Sunday night and due one minute after midnight Saturday night. I guess the judges deliberate during the day on Sunday. (They saw it, and it was good.)
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

Ooohhhhh!! Right! It all becomes clear. yeah, I think the intention is midnight on Sunday / Monday each case, not 0:01am on those days. Sorry for any confusion on behalf of the overpaid team; and as I am the crappy idiot who is the go-between, I'm making an executive decision to make it thus, for the good of the competition. Until someone more important tells me I'm wrong, of course :)

Although TBF that does reduce the amount of time for judges between feeding "the pit" with titles and challenges, then giving our *much valued* responses to the previous output. If that's what you want, we are only here to make you happy; but when looking for things to squeak about, do you really want to set us up to fail worse? Rhetorical question; I know the answer to that. (tee hee)

Also, just write your songs and get off the internet 'til you have. None of us need a *week* ....

Ken in b4 my reply. My concern is the due dates for the songs, which (according to the Nur Ein website) vary depending on the round, and which still differ from the initial post in this string.

Also sorry, I know I wrote PST instead of PDT in the previous posts, I was wrong. Other than those middle letters the posts/times listed are still what I'd meant to say.

So we're all on the same page? It's making sure that the dates / times reflect the end of Sunday / Monday in each case, not the start? If so, I'll have a word and I'm sure we can put this right before the due deadline for round zero.

Or if, as wouldn't be the first time, I am well off, please do spell it out in words of less than one syllable for a stupid English man and I will try to settle this up properly. Personally, I feel it should be the same period of creative time for each round and I would be surprised if my less posty fellow judges felt any different ...
