Re: Nur Ein XII - Round One
Just played my husband the Round One songs while we were stuck in traffic together, and he said that Skub's song is as good as something you'd hear on the radio. I agree. Also, I finally said "Lichen Throat" out loud and finally got the pun. *is dense*
Because Zombie Requiem, that's why.

I had no idea my band name would become such a topic of public discourse.

Re: Nur Ein XII - Round One
Said out loud, Lichen Throat sounds like lycanthrope (shape shifting person, such as a werewolf.) Well, it's an off rhyme, at any rate. And assuming you pronounce it "Like in Throat" as opposed to "Litch in throat." At least, I'm assuming that's the joke. If not then I've been saying the name wrong in my head all these weeks.

Re: Nur Ein XII - Round One
Just a few thoughts on my favorite two songs of Round One:
Skub--I am not predisposed to like anything about this song, but it's really impressive. A rhythm that makes me want to shake my ass, great sounding bass, excellent vocal performance. This is now my all time favorite disco song. Congratulations on your well-deserved win.
Nick Soma--This is exactly the sort of song I am predisposed to like, and I really love it. This is my favorite song I've heard, from anyone, anywhere, in the last few months. The first time through, I was expecting the chorus to burst out more dramatically than it did, but I like the way you have it, too. I've had it on endless repeat in my car the last couple of days, and I'm downloading your back catalog now. Excellent, excellent work!
