Wow, Ray. I can't believe you just reserved using the word "cunt" for one person but not another purely on the basis of their gender. You sexist cunt
You are right. I will post a photograph of myself with "sexist cunt" written in felt pen on my forehead.
That's the way a true gentleman deals with anything.

Ugh. Let me show the math as I see it:

That word is inherently associated with a female body part.

More often than not, when that word is used, it is used as a negative epithet.

When that word is used as a negative epithet the user is reinforcing a negative association with the female body part, whether intentionally or not, and whether consciously or subconsciously.

Since that body part belongs to the biologically female body and not to the biologically male body, a further negative association is made with women in general (again, whether consciously or subconsciously). [One could argue that it might also be promoting sex negativity to some extent, but I’m not going to get into that here.]

You may believe that the negative association is completely absent from both your conscious and subconscious, but it is almost certainly still there whether you think it is or not. Either way, you have no control over how others process that term, so when you use it you are perpetuating those negative associations regardless of your intention. While using that term to insult a racist idiot, to a lesser extent you also demean all women.

I get it that you might feel that this sort of vocabulary is your cultural norm, but we improve culture by improving our involvement in it. At minimum we can easily avoid perpetuating regressive idiocies. It is absolutely possible to phrase an accurate insult in a way that is not even vaguely disparaging to women, the same way you can phrase an insult without demeaning other religions, races, ethnicities or sexual orientations. Pauline Hanson is a racist troll. She is corrupt. She is a xenophobe. She is a piece of shit. And Fraser Anning is all of that and worse.

Obviously nobody is preventing you from using that word. And it is obviously not whiney or pissweak for anyone to complain about the use of epithets that are gender-specific (or race-specific, or orientation-specific, etc). Your outrage and your hyperdefensiveness about this is weird.

Side note: I am not worried about misandry. We can discuss misandry after parity of income and parity of political power is achieved. Until then, the whole concept of misandry is a trollish distraction from the genuine existing problem of misogyny.

It's fine with me if you don't agree with any or all of those points, I'm just writing to explain my understanding of the rationale behind avoiding those types of terms.

It seems the word has achieved a very high shock value.
