OK, great idea! Let's do this!

Title: "Kobayashi Maru"
Due Date: Feb 30th at 13PM
All of the following Non-optional Challenges apply:

1. Uncommon Percussion
2. Use of Alliteration
3. Time Signature Changes
4. Guest Vocals
5. No guitar (bass is okay)
6. Guitar and Vox only (bass is prohibited)

... oh, wait...

Congrats Puce!!!
That was a close call.

I'd also like to add a huge thank you to Niveous for putting this, "best of the best" Song Fight competition together, and all of the Judges for taking time out of their days to deliberate each round. We had our fun with each other, but when the smoke clears, we are all musicians, writers, producers, brothers, sisters, and I'd like to consider, friends.

Puce, you could always do the bonus round minus the two challenges that can't both be done at the same time. Or you could drop the "guitar and vocals only" challenge and keep the "no guitar" challenge. Definitely keep the six minute challenge, though.

Some factoids:

Nur Ein I participants produced 78 song.
Nur Ein II participants produced 105 songs.
Total: 183 songs!

If you subtract the 28 songs from the qualifying round for II, II resulted in one less song in the "official" rounds. There was one more participant eliminated by default in I but there was also one more participant in the final round. Had Frankie been able to do a song the week he had immunity, the official rounds would have resulted in the same number of songs. (Which is not a judgment of Frankie, just an observation. We would have taken a week off if we could have.)

Folks who won rounds:

Puce: 4
Glenn Case: 2
Leaf: 2
Abominominous: 1
Calfborg: 1
Frankie: 1
Merisan: 1 (+ the qualifying round for II)
Ross Durand: 1
Thornberry: 1

11 most prolific participants:

Tex Beaumont: 10
Calfborg: 9
Jim Tyrrell: 9
Ross Durand: 9
WreckdoM: 9
Puce: 8
The BeWells: 7
Frankie: 7
Glenn Case: 7
Leaf: 7
Merisan: 7
Total: 89

The above participants produced almost half of the total Nur Ein songs.

Okay, first of all, congratulations to Puce! You are one talented bastard and I feel no embarrassment having lost to you. Wear the crown with dignity, my young Canadian comrade.

That having been said, I think I was robbed in this last round. :P

What fun this whole thing has been! Thanks to all who organized it. I hope I can do the next one, but if not, maybe I can be a judge. I'm also hoping this experience has jump-started a return to SongFighting for me. Don't be surprised if you see me in the Ottoman fight.

Sorry Ross, I screwed that up. I fixed it now, though. Thanks for pointing it out, CR.

when all other competitors whine about how tired they are of making songs, frankie pulls a stiff upper lip and also si rejuvenated. probably he's a robot. I wonder if I lost it for him when I said I'd rather only the kicked-off-contestants should be granted votes.

Heh. Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind!

Actually, I never really read all the rules at the outset and didn't realize the last round is decided by a vote from the, um...castaways. I thought it was something Niveous just came up with to make things interesting. Once I saw it was in the original rules, I felt bad about suggesting the judges should vote. You know how I like rules!

Like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know.
