Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
This is the first title I've heard for Nur Ein where I don't immediately think "What the crap am I going to write about?"

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
Does that mean recording something then playing the recording in reverse, not playing the guitar behind your back?Niveous wrote:Challenge: Must include prominant use of backwards recording

edit / reverse (?) or perhaps process / reverse (?) your DAW software should have an option to reverse a .wav file...frankie big face wrote:uh oh. i don't know how to do that yet.Niveous wrote:The Jury has selected the title:

I think your second solution sounds perfectly feasible.adamadamant wrote:Does that mean recording something then playing the recording in reverse, not playing the guitar behind your back?Niveous wrote:Challenge: Must include prominant use of backwards recording

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
I would do it but how would I prove to the judges that I actually played it backwards?

Damn, I haven't got a camera.
Hmmm, or a guitar. This isn't going to work.

Aww sweeeeeeet. Great title (I'm already inspired, and I just read it 20 seconds ago) and *great* n/o challenge. I am psyched, I tell you.

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
The best option is to take a song you have already written and recorded, then over the next week - slowly erase it, bit by bit. Then just before the deadline, ask Niveous to send you an mp3 file.adamadamant wrote:Damn, I haven't got a camera.

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
Good title/challenge. I've been happy with each of the last two. But then again, I think I'd be happy with anything that's not "Brownie Points". That stumped me last year.

I'm so screwed guys. I can't reverse stuff on my AW1600. This is going to be beyond difficult if I'm going to pull anything together.

Nope. I'm 19 ... cassette tapes are ancient to me, much less records.

Garageband doesn't reverse either - so I use this:

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
Thanks Ray, but I've already got audacity (I recorded all my old songs on it). The problem I'm having is that my recording box is upstairs, and nowhere near any computers. I mix down in real-time on my box, so unless I want to mix down in Audacity (which will probably not sound great - I haven't practiced with it lately), I'm going to have to record a bit, unplug all the inputs, carry the box downstairs, usb/power it up, edit the track, reimport it to the box and carry it back upstairs to plug everything back in. If I want to elaborate on the challenge at all, I'm going to have to do this 2 or 3 times. And I don't have the patience for that.

Re: Nur Ein III- Round 2
Dude, have you heard of the Internet? I haven't checked with the judges on this, but perhaps you could just send somebody an audio file and have them reverse it for you and send it back? Again, I'm not saying this in an official capacity or anything, so perhaps the majority of the panel will conclude that that's not OK. I don't know. It just occurred to me as a possible solution to your dilemma.

I'm betting the AW1600 doesn't have a built-in email client
