wow. this is a Terribly Impressive Surprise. It was a stunning round and I really liked every song. Also I can confidently say I'm writing reviews now and be believed.

Do not quake in fear, they are shorter than last time's.

Chris if you are still lurking here thinking of posting more about underclothes and stuff, thank you for your MASSIVE amounts of help and helping me make something that sounds DJRD-esque.

I'm just happy I went out with a decent effort. It sucks to get chucked out because of not meeting the challenge or some unwritten rule or something. I left these As-Are for the most part. Again, they are long, they are awful...
They reflect what I had written before results came out. I honestly didn't know for sure who would get ranked where or eliminated and was a trifle surprised honestly at how it played out. Both top and low down. This was a fantastic round. NUR EIN!

ADAM ADAMANT
i could embarrass myself dancing to this song, or playing an 80s video game where I am fighting off little ninjas coming at me from little lumpy mountains. probably because the little "WoooOOOOoOOOOooOOOoooOOOOO" is quite pervasive and the Bass Drummy bit quite a harsh taskmaster. The guest-evangelist rhyme is win and your start-stop-start percussion is pretty swift. You can flow QUITE nicely. I've gotten kind of attached to your vocal throughout this contest I'm afraid.

ADD
Your groove RULES and I really love the coke-bottle glockenspiel thingy! What a killer bass-bit! End was a tad awkward to me. I put Wikipedia in a "rap" once. I'm glad to see that someone actually did this in a successful fashion. I want to get in a car and brake to the beat with this on (no one wants me driving). This could have kept going for longer which is high praise from me because I have the attention span of a snow pea.

THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Not uber crazy about the effect on your voice combined with your guitar tone. But when the high hat comes in with that synth it combines to a kind of trippy effect and I feel like I'm in this little bar looking at you sideways-squinty and you're up on a really high stage lots of smokeyBad-lighting and myMy this is a terrible review. What I am trying to say is that you've made ambiance. I think I have fallen for your weird little voice!

CHRIS COGOTT
You of course can pull off such silliness. I was worried until I heard you hit the list of children's names - you know you're dealing with a pro who can sell you melted ice. I was pretty amused with the intro read and had the endearing "oh...BYD...*comfyendearingsigh*" The end is brilliant and hillarical. Trademark harmonies that do not get old. You make it stick for sure. I think it would be a mistake to think that you can do this sort of thing in your sleep and so dismiss it; it's actually a skill to make funny music sound polished and easy and quick to listen to in an entire package deal and I don't do it well in the least..not without effort.

My Assessment of Me (and BLT)
I got BLT, as was expected. I have felt odd not working with him, which is sort of a problem in and of itself because I need to be able to function myself or you know ... what the Hell?!?!? we had rough edges and trying to make a piece that sounded like DJRD + BLT and not like a BAT-P tune reminded me of some of our old getting used to things tunes where we were just trying random things.

FRANKIE BIG FACE
Frankie! This is... cute! And then your lyrics are kinda racy. This is super catchy. Is this about what I think it's about? I think I just wanted you to have a nice normal evening in a nice normal song but you just aren't having that are you? I haven't decided if I like the long-long-long echo. You really have a sound that is unique and allows you to get away with a number of infractions such as excessive lyrics getting shoved into smallish spaces and jumping around melodically and a few mix-related things (tones that clash in the mix timbre-wise but manage to compliment somehow and everything sort of draws-together)...but you pull it off and it sounds pro. I can't do that as cleanly; I have to slow things down in my headspace a bit. I think I might spy on you a bit and figure out if it's a Thing or if it can be learned.

GENEVIEVE JOHNSON AND THE CHIEFS
This was just wonderful. I actually felt *I* was a little uncool because it was so Uber-songfighter-y and I haven't felt noob-y for a while but I did again listening to this. This was dripping with suave-ish-ness and Big SFight Names. It's kinda hot, actually, that's swishy little groove and everyone was put in a place that suited them! Also the mix was pretty damn cool and kinda ass-shakin.' It was actually not just a Meta piece of such-and-such either; I'd probably listen to it because it's weird in a They Might Be Giants B-side kinda way and I want to walk around singing "vor-AY-shuuus ... CARnuhvorrrrr." I am NOT going to judge myself for being weird though anymore, that is certainly a point I shall go ahead and make! Got all freaky there towards the end ...

GOOEY CARAMEL CENTAUR
Nice package sound right out of the gate and duet voices that compliment each other well. Actually - REAL well. Damn, folks! This could be closing credits for something because it's nice-catchy. Real well done! The solo hits and that's just a joy to listen to. The harmonies are so nice. This lasts for precisely the right amount of time. I don't have a lot of negative things to say about this and I'm just gonna sit here on my picnic table and drink my beer and enjoy the fine sonic evening you provided.

JON ERIC
In some parts your percussion is too much. Then the rest of the time it's perfect and tops things nicely. Piano vintage Jon Eric. Which is nice to hear you going back to the Roots of Things. Vocals earnest and sincere - and it's a good collaboration. Mixing is well handled and showcases a strong emotional performance. Bridge is my favorite part (that was a pretty savage note there!) and later on in the tune) anything but a careless whisper. Well done on those challenges. Funny end. Great personality.

MANHATTAN GLUTTON
Well placed in the playlist. Holy cow I love your drums and your guitar tone. Your harmony vocal sounds like you are not all that into it but then by the time you get into the song more you've bought into things. I think it's hard not to buy into your content though. Also one of the strong vocals of songfight. This is a pretty stock chord progression but it's a strong one but and your arrangement blocks around it and the parts interlock really creatively and that's the thing about you is that you have creativity in spades. {I smiled here but alas the smiley police}

MERISAN
This is a gorgeous arrangement and I'm scratching my head trying to think of something to say that could even be constructive. It goes on for a while. But it's slipping in and out of transitions so well and has all these little touches that keep it so interesting that's not really even a good argument. "exhausted every option" is one of those special singing moments. Your voices really match so very beautifully and it's just really such a treat to listen to this. "I haven't lost my faith in God I've lost my faith in me." You are made of gold, people. Very last bit of noise and fade out could have been a bit cleaner, imo.

OYSTERCATCHER
the tapeworm thing... ai! Ai! very, very, very funny.
Abdomain. Oh my god. That's hilarious. The lyrics to this are just really raunch. I can't believe you used the baby cries. The vocals ..
I'm afraid of your band.
Also I like your guitar tone. This song is terrible---y... Brilliant. This band, and it's collab, confuses and perplexes. Your musical chops backed it up. There's nothing fun-ner than to hear a completely horrifying set of lyrics to a completely well put out track of sounds.

ROSS DURAND
You are dripping with soul man. This was really delivered with such personality and I'm late for an appointment but can't stop writing this review. The vocal decisions, regardless of whether or not they were delivered choicelessly because of voiceloss - were done with winning quality. Was that a glorious Blood Sweat and Tears nod? It worked!

WRECKDOM
Oh Master of Glorious wah! And the balance with the bass. Another ass shaking number. It's hanging a little loose but the saxophone comes in and it ties together nice. I'd go see this live and it's so deliciously trippy and this is probably one of my top picks because of the way the vocals and the scratch and the horns fit sonically. If everything was mixed just a LITTLE tighter and I felt a little less chaos all around in my head (which may be killing your point) it'd be a 3-pointer for me. abrupt end.

THE WORLDLY SELF ASSURANCE
Really good lead vocal. Sexy even. Collab is totally working for you! Sometimes you remind me a little of Of Montreal. This is a compliment and not just one of those things that elderly people who want to be hipsters say. I like this song better than last round's which was clever but I still felt slightly alienated.

This is a little groovier and made me bob my head back and forth." My toes did the tap-tap. Also twas catchy and grew on me. There's a really nice airy quality in these vocals. It faded out nice.
