Please don't call me Ken Feathers
I don't want to answer to that

Edit: Whoops. Better pay attention when reading the title.

"Fightmaster" seems to be a title associated with Songfight. Are there any others?

Or is it referring to the titles of forum threads?

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Any judges care to weigh in on whether they're likely to appreciate multiple Song Fight titles used in the lyrics, or whether that will be frowned upon?

I've actually used two in my chorus (one by accident, as it happens), and I'm wondering whether to go all-in and sprinkle my lyric with as many titles as I can sensibly fit, like Niveous' "Isle Dauphine."

I gave half a thought of doing the entire song with nothing but SongFight titles, but had the feeling it might be too similar to last ST's mix of REM, Reunion and Internet Memes. It was fun but awkward to construct.

As long as there's one, you're safe. If there's more, it's not going to effect things - you go by what is there, not how you think they will interpret it.

The judge who posted right above you begs to differ.

I suppose I'll stick with just the two that are already in there. It'll be easier to write that way, at least.

No, the judge who posted above doesn't know the entire SF archive well enough to notice, most likely. the non-optional challenge, on the other hand, makes it pretty clear.

I don't think it's the judges' job to offer guidance to the competitors during the writing process. But in my opinion the most important word in the challenge is "meaningfully". If you end up with a bunch of nonsense lyrics simply because you wanted to shoehorn as many song titles as you could, you have failed to meet the challenge appropriately.

To me the important word is, "subjective", because that's what "meaningfully" is. :P

Well, duh. The entire thing is 100% subjective. That's just how it goes.

Well, gee, it's Thursday afternoon and I've still only got about eight lines written.

This is one of those weeks when I really wish I could still play guitar.

:(

I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Yes. One only.

If you use more than one....or even if you even use a single word that occurs in one of the other Songfight titles, you will be disqualified. And beaten.

It finally came together. It didn't turn out sounding much like a Tubba Gutz song, but apparently that's a good thing!
