I have recorded a great song but I can't send it in because my computer (Powerbook G4) is out of date and won't let me do anything on the internet. Does anyone have a magic fix for my problem?

Since you have some time, I suggest you get a flash drive or some other external drive, transfer your mp3 to that drive and then find another computer that is connected to the internet to use to submit.

Depends on how bad the Powerbook is broken. If you have no Internet, but can still connect to your home network, you could use a shared folder. If you have no network at all, inside or out, then the only way to get that data off of your Powerbook is on physical media (a CD, DVD, or USB drive). USB is probably your best bet.

In the long run, you'll probably save yourself a ton of future hassle and headaches if you can find a way to fix your computer's Internet problem.

I have a PC I can connect with but I record on the Mac which the conventional sources are telling me is f'ed for the internet. So I'll try the flash drive route. You'll know when it's worked when my gay country love song ERASES YOUR MINDS!!!!!!!!!!

OK apparently the email sent, though I had no indication it had worked. I got a flash drive anyway just in case.

I'm struggling with this one. It's a very lyrically based challenge and ... I usually struggle to come up with even a few lines of lyrics. I usually prefer painting with words a bit, rather than story telling, but this challenge seems to want a more fleshed out sort of deal... eh. I've got nothing so far. I got a musical idea though. Maybe I'll just go with that and try to add lyrics later. Merry Earth Day.

I think I might have something. I've liked it for days. I'm most assuredly jinxing myself.

Why is a round one song killing me? I'm on the third (?!?) lyrical iteration already. *So* thought the Rashomon rip would do it for the challenge. Meh. No fun. So now I'll just be me (thanks JE, never thought I'd had a brand ;-) ) and let the chips fall. But I'm having fun now. YMMV. Nur aaarrrggh!!!

The Dockers are in. I think I liked last weeks song better. Oh well.....
I used another spoken word bridge this week. Do I get extra points? And no vomiting. I will leave it up to the listener to provide their own this time.

Mine is recorded, but I'll wait a day and see if any last-minute tweaking hits me. The challenge is met and the idea is complete, but it's just two rounds of verse/chorus. Posting the lyrics now.

I was going to put a cool rotary effect on my voice, and then I asked the girl. Big mistake. "I like your voice" as if the rotary made it not my voice.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Hmm... don't think I'm gonna make the cut off. Bummer. I had a few starts over the week that just didn't come through. Got until 2pm tomorrow before I'm busy the rest of the day.

I tried to write a fart song this week, but mine has come out much too serious. It's been a tough last couple of years around our house, our older son (now almost 15) has struggled with depression, including a week-long hospital stay this past January. He's on medication and thankfully is out of danger, but between his needs and our 10 year old's issues my wife and I are so tired. I don't want to say that my light no longer shines, but I was unable to write about anything but my family this week with a title like we had, and the "multiple narratives". Hopefully I don't bring down the judges so much that my Nur Ein light no longer shines.
