I'm thinking more for recording. Having a sitar type sound for layers etc sounds enticing. I don't think I'd ever use it live and I *could* see it used for practicing if I ever did that.

I have worked so many hours in the last two weeks that I could take next week off entirely. If only the work was all done... No music for me until February. Wah.

Re: Drinking from (The Dregs prefight)
There's a few mixing issues and some bits I wouldn't mind re-recording, but I'm in with something a bit different from my last few entries (though it's got some stylistic cues in common with my Long Story Short entry) And actual guitar this time! Weee.
Now I can quit chugging Turkish coffee and give my brain a break. I'll try to do my reviews tomorrow!
Edit: yeah, listen to this one with speakers, not headphones. It sounds *way* better that way, cause I accidentally hard panned the vocals in the second half to the far left...oops!

Re: Drinking from (The Dregs prefight)
ok, I'm in--
Girl + ukulele, check.
Spoon solo, check.
Post-apocalyptic middle-America sitcom, check.
Radioactive pianos, check.
"Cream", check.
"Shit", check.
(I added those last two at the last minute...)
Here's the what the space for the main reverb I used looks like.
John Nolen Drive is a major road in Madison. There's an event every year called Ride the Drive where they shut down motor traffic and you can bike/walk/rollerblade/etc. down the middle of the road, and I always enjoy going under the bridge I linked on Street View and imagining it's the end of the world.
My downstairs neighbor probably hates me, if he didn't already. I recorded 30 minutes straight of incompetent, arrythmic spoon playing in order to snip out and use the tiny portion that appears in this song. I also spent waaaay too long on the hokey intro to the song, which I really only added in order to get the spoon solo in there in any kind of usable way.
I hope you guys enjoy it despite the much-despised G&U.

I didn't think I was going to manage a song for this one, but I've just been changing all my guitar strings in advance of FAWM and a song fell out while I was playing a newly strung acoustic. Therefore: In.
No spoons though, sadly.

Pigfarmer Jr I'm going to use the crumpart art but this one of yours cracked me up pretty hard. It was a tough choice between those two. They're both great. I think the crumpart one looks like an actual album cover of a real band "The Dregs" for their album "Song Fight!".

You chose the one I liked best and it does look like an old vinyl cover to me.Lunkhead wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 10:12 pmPigfarmer Jr I'm going to use the crumpart art but this one of yours cracked me up pretty hard. Aw. Thanks, both of you! Here’s a progress shot I took while making it.Pigfarmer Jr wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:47 amYou chose the one I liked best and it does look like an old vinyl cover to me.Lunkhead wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 10:12 pmPigfarmer Jr I'm going to use the crumpart art but this one of yours cracked me up pretty hard.
