Lunk, I know you're busy enough, but I sent an updated version of my entry and didn't get a response. If you see two, it's the 3.4 mb version not the larger. I figure it might have gone into spam as I sent them within 30 minutes of each other. No worries if it gets past.

We sent a late entry, any chance we could be included?

Sure, I may not get to it till Friday though, I'm super busy getting ready for Song Fight Live. I have BSS practice tonight and Merisan practice tomorrow night.

Much appreciated sir, many thanks! And since people will get to hear it I'd like to clarify we wrote this song before Hurricane Harvey struck, and the similarities between our song and real events is an unfortunate coincidence.

dark side of the son: I like calm music. I can ride along like I'm in a Cadillac. It just glides right along all comfortable. And while I like the melody and the vocal delivery, the constant glissando in the vocal took me right out of the song from the first line. It's a good song. Just pitchy.

JB & Hugo: Whistling is an acquire taste, I guess. Actually, I was impressed with the quality of the whistling. And it fit the melody and mood very well. The melody seems to be a bit light. But the vocals work very well. I like the doubled vox/harmony. On first listen I thought I was hearing things until the end. But on second listen I was able to discern more clearly the ummm, vocal pad, being used.

K.I.P.: My first thought was to knock this for the obvious use of the sample. But once I stopped and listened... Man, this is a killer song. Well written, well performed. It's a better angle than a simple eclipse song (although those aren't bad, by any means.) I'm not much into rap, but when something strikes my fancy then I pay attention. This is great, imo. Best song in the fight.

Pigfarmer Jr: (Me) I chose to cut the first chorus to shorten the song and maintain attention span. But that had the unintended consequence of too much sameness for the first half. I actually recorded the parts on this with less mistakes than usual. And I like this well enough. I can't say that of all my submissions.

Silversack Gorilla I like the retro feel, psychosurfabilly done right. You didn't overstay your welcome and kept it pretty short. I'm a sucker for this style, although I feel it could wear out it's welcome in a hurry. But I definitely enjoyed listening.

Edit to add:
WreckdoM - I liked the rhythm in the intro. The vocal was well executed. Lyrically it was interesting. This was a well executed delivery. And this is probably my favorite of yours... definitely of late.

Silver Sack Gorilla - hahaha, amazing! What a way to start. The surf guitars and organs sound wonderful and I love those tom rolls. The vocal gets a bit drowned maybe but I dunno if that’s intentional - that would be my only critique anyway, this is rad.

JB & Hugo - extremely charming and retro: the harmonies put me in mind of Simon & Garfunkel immediately, and I love that melancholy whistle. I could have done without the… erm… “additional backing vocal”!? But I liked everything else.

Pigfarmer Jr - solid rocker with a really sweet fuzz guitar sound. I’d have loved to hear something to take the chorus up a notch though, maybe a backing vocal or some lead guitar?

dark side of the son - love your melancholy guitars. This whole track is extremely wistful and atmospheric, one of my favourites from you.

K.I.P. - clever sampling! This is very well done - writing, rapping and production all to a high level.

No sign of the late WreckdoM track?

WreckdoM - really fun production, I like the squeaky synth in the intro, it sounds like a cartoon character talking on the phone. Interesting storytelling and plenty of great sounds going on!
