Good win, Balance Lost! Now go make that chorus longer!
Aye aye Cap'n. And fix that fade out.

awesome podcast, great to hear from JB. I loved his song (still my favorite of this fight.) subscribed to Big Z on youtube now.

agreed on my song's verse being wonky. couldn't get it right. thanks for the feedback!

I'm finally listening to this. Unfortunately I don't have any copies of the Attack of the Show episode; it never even occurred to me to download it. I remember it mostly being very awkward.

EDIT: Regarding the review on mine, I was definitely trying to avoid annoying the neighbors at 11 PM, and the vocal timing could have definitely been better but this was something I did completely at the last minute. I do want to redo the vocals for an album release eventually. Stylistically I was going for, like, Massive Attack meets Reggie Watts. And I absolutely agree that it could have been better.

Also, "safeword to your mother" was something I literally came up with at the very end and just sorta made up on the spot.

I guess I should make the song better so that more people get into pegging!

Thanks for letting me babble, fellas, and editing it so I don’t sound like the babbling fool that I am. Well, not as much as usual anyway.

It turned out swell and I had a great time. Your podcasting skills are on point.

That marching band is pretty cool, JB. I can't play any of those instruments, guess I'd have to carry the banner.

For the record, I'm not anti hippy, or anti much, really. Anti GOP, but that's for another thread. JB is right in that the song turned into a poseur commentary. Just kinda ended up there somehow. And while I DO have an electric kazoo, the solo here was synth and non rehearsed guitar mimicing it. So there's that.

Love the podcast, guys. Keep it up!

Excellent podcast again, super-detailed reviews and interesting to hear some tales of Olden Days Song Fight, when the reviews were brutal and Nerdcore reigned supreme. Probably.

I really appreciate the effort you guys put into discussions of the songs, researching the topics and getting right into the lyrics. Even when I'm not competing - hearing your analysis frequently makes me like the other songs more. Keep it up!

So, first off — love your work. This podcast is such a great addition to Songfight and you do a great job. So thanks.

I have to correct one error in the Fussy Britches review, though. I agree the chorus on Gert's Bad Cat is great ... but I didn't sing it. That was the almighty Tonetripper, who also rocked the four-string righteousness on that track.

The general rule of thumb is: if the part was sung really well, then it probably wasn't Smalltown.
Punk rock is for children. Grab a six-pack at Half-a-Dozen Records.
