Board's acting funny for me as well...so I'll point out that without intending to, I apparently also named my son the same thing that Anthony Keidis did. Oops.

Anyway (and my first effort at posting this didn't work):

I had no intention of sounding RHCP-ish at all! I've actually only listened to Californication extensively (not recently). But I do hear why you would think that it sounded like them: the totally brickwalled vocal compression. Well, that and the fact that it's funky. Anyway, I'm glad that while it's not really your bag you didn't find it all that annoying! Next time I'll have to sing a song about California. Not sure how I'd do that though, given I've only been once. Had a good time though!

Congratz you two rock stars... well all y'all rockstars I guess. Its like seeing the same two teams in the superbowl a couple years in a row. One of you is gonna have to become the much respected villain in all this voting, I'm afraid. Rock paper scissors to figure who.

Sweeney Toad: That super-sustained synth backing feels like there's absolutely no way in hell that it should work, and yet... I love this, it's great. Some of the best rapping I've heard on Song Fight, loads of clever rhymes and witty lines, and somehow despite sounding BASICALLY like musical tinnitus, I loved that weird backing every time it kicked in.
I was planning on fixing that later but as I started writing lyrics I just felt like it actually worked and kind of sounded cool so I left it!
