I have managed to make an entry into this fight. The title is kind of a lay up for our present pandemic situation and I could not help but take advantage of it, with some societal and existential elements subtly woven in. The lead vox on my entry is actually the scratch vocal that I recorded to more easily follow the song as I recorded the instruments. As with most of my entries, by the time I am ready to record the "real" lead vox, the scratch has become like an old friend and I just leave it. ha.

Stay well all you cool peeps!! :) If I manage to stay healthy I will be in the studio for the next several weeks making lemonade out of all the lemons I hoarded. :)

I got as far as writing lyrics for this fight, but unfortunately I've been tied up with fixing our second bathroom so our daughter can more effectively quarantine herself after returning from Denmark. (We're planning to sell the house and there was a problem with the tile floor, so I removed the fixtures and tore out the tile and started repairs on the subfloor, and then, only then, did we have to embark on self-isolation.)

They're not-bad lyrics (I think), so I'll post them to Ye Olde Lyric Archive Mart in case anyone wants to use them in a last-minute dash to the functional deadline. But I may use them anyway, if I get a chance.

I played with a (fairly) new toy and sent something in. The good news is I figured out it's limitations pretty clearly.

I wrote a chorus but I'm unable to record it because I'm otherwise occupied.

"So they cancelled the Kissing Contest
And I understand that this is for the best
but I won't say that I'm not sad
it was the only chance I had
to feel your lips on my lips
and my heart in my chest..."

Be well, everyone. Wash your hands, and check in regularly so we know you're okay.

Submitted a noisy mess of a track. My attempts an existentialism turned out way more nihilistic. Oops. I may end up sitting next week out cause I'm wanting to plant a huge garden. Cause, y'know, it's springtime. And it means less trips to the grocery store.

Well this has been, interesting. I apologize for the following; 1. the wicked buzz in my amp that I can't figure out, 2. the fact that I can't enunciate a "ch" sound whilst singing, and 3. my less than stellar mixing skillzzz.

Oh! And rather unnatural pairing of instruments.

Meanwhile, while @gizo has been forced into work I've been touching all of his instruments. In with some existential power pop made using @Lollypops guitar, @gizo's glockenspiel and my childhood Casio Tonebank SA-1.

I love my Casio SA-7! I've used it on a bunch of songs.
