Where is Brody when you need them to write Shutdown as a tribute to Tom Petty's Breakdown.

I think it is related to Nur Ein's non-optional challenge: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=11789

I foresee lots of angsty rock songs and sadfuck acoustic songs. I'm writing the latter. Having to specifically avoid the mental link to Slaid Cleaves' Broke Down.

My mind went straight to the back of a toilet door seven years ago. I’m pretty sure there’s no need for me to call dibs on anything.

I'm tempted to also throw in some samples of toilet flushing sounds now, i have no idea what i'm going to do with this yet, i'll probably work on it tomorrow.

Drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, hammond, and ~6 layers of vocals done. Adding mandolin and dobro today.

I'm probably overdoing this.

Have written and recorded a song for this, but I've decided I don't like it enough to stand by and watch it get slaughtered in reviews. Only happened twice before in my whole history of fighting (Baseball vs Opera which now I really like and "Butterfly Massacre" which i decided too late was not very good) so I may finish it up and post it somewhere. Don't know why I am writing this except I like to see my "words" on a screen, and to let you know you're all spared for at least another week.

Or if anyone wants a mediocre punk-ish completed backing track, let me know. I'll send it over.
