My favorite bouncy quarter note is literally every old country song using an upright bass.

Good thing this is an instrumental or else I'd be tempted to submit it: https://sockpuppet.us/track/gobetween

I'm in, not submitted yet, with what is turning out to be another vignette of the guy from my Better Days song.

I seem to be also ready. Lots of guitars and kick drum this time. I thought it starts off with a kind of western feel then goes into a Black Crows kind-a thing. But my oldest one said: "Well Dad, it just sounds like you." - Maybe he's right... Shrug shrug. :D

I’m in with a pretty minimalistic approach and a bit of a Tom Waits/Screamin’ Jay Hawkins influence.

Working on this one. My first thought was the novel we had to read at school (the past is a different country, they do things differently there) but I didn't fancy that so went in a very different direction ...

I'm in. It's only taken me 14 years to make a return to Song Fight and this is the first song I've recorded in about 10 years so very rusty on the production.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone else has done.

I'm in. I had to scrap my first attempt when I realised I couldn't sing it. I've managed to record something that I think is better but isn't as finished as I would have liked.

Well I've done it: a poorly mixed rock song. Yay me! I do hope someone enjoys it, I found it kind of catchy while I was working on it. I just finished reading Confess by Rob Halford and he said he liked always to try and put a positive spin in his lyrics, so I tried channel the spirit of that positivity. At least in the lyrics.
