Away all this week but managed to get something done and in quickly - a user-friendly title always helps, as does a simple arrangement

Heading out on vacation but didn't want to leave the tales of Friendly Town hanging by not doing part 4 of 4, nor did I want to break my SF streak, so I'm in early. This was a complete rush-job, I hope if anything it tells a good story because musically I just didn't have the time to take it to the next level. I'll probably re-tool this at a later time and put it on my Bandcamp with the others in the story.

I submitted art. All the pics were on or near Highway 63 in mid Missouri. The one with the tree was actually taken a bit off the highway while I was on my way home from dropping Amanda (the other half of Evil Grin) off at the local airport. Thought that was cute.
I had an idea for a song... still might work on it. But I've been voluntold to do a lot of family stuff so...

Hostess Mostess is in again! We are on a roll this summer!
This one feels big to us, like a creative inflection point. Something's coming, something good, if I can wait.
My one regret is that it has the lyric "I passed a machine" and I kind of swallowed the "I" so now it sounds like a Canadian singing about a pasta machine. But there's no way in hell I'm going to set up my mics again to rerecord the one word. So we'll just have to live with it.

I'm in with Part 4. I tried to write a Midnight Oil song and was not all that successful.

I'm in. This title is really clever, so many ways to go with it. I'm excited to hear everyone's take!

Critical Rave Theory is in with part 4 of 4 of our song cycle.
However, there was a bit of confusion On My Way Home and I initially submitted a mono mix. If the beloved Fightmaster could please post the stereo mix I sent a little later instead, that would be swell.

Re: Pickin' up a six pack (On My Way Home prefight)
In very late. Got a new (used) Bluebird mic off eBay for this one. Really enjoying it, but my computer crashed after recording half the tracks at 125 BPM and half at 130. When I rebooted I had no project file, just a ton of .wav files with differing start points and timescales. I now have a lot of practice with Reaper's stretch tool. In the end, re-recording would have been wise, but this was an informative experience. Maybe just re-recording would have been a wise choice.
In this instalment, Lyle comes home for a funeral. Will family ties be strong enough to bridge the growing rift? Who are these people in the obit comments? Can it ever be the same again?

I did send something in yesterday. I actually tried to get a story out of this title and the previous five songfight titles. But in a different order. Still, it was fun to try and do.
