Well I finished lyrics awhile ago, and have a collaborator working on recording it now. Hopefully yall will get to rip me to shreds if we make the deadline. I've been waiting for a title that sparked an idea I could use for YouTube, and this one did. I will say that I'm not really a fan of deadlines. I get why some people are, but it is not something I found enjoyable. ;p

Re: Where do you think you're going? (This Isn't Over Yet prefight)
I was ripped to shreds on my last entry because my song was about COVID, yet these obvious COVID related titles keep popping up. What do you expect?
I'm not about negativity so this is not about making anyone feel bad but the optional challenge here should be making the song not about COVID. ha.
I have no ideas and have not started anything but I have the whole day tomorrow so I'm going to do something to make up for my transgressions and try something completely different!!!
or not.

Certainly seems to be the pattern. I had the same thought. But let's embrace it. They should double down and make the next title "The Fourth Wave of the Global COVID Nineteen Pandemic" and then we all try to write about puppy love or sorrow or something.shoehornTC wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 8:56 amI was ripped to shreds on my last entry because my song was about COVID, yet these obvious COVID related titles keep popping up. I'm in - using far too many tracks than is reasonably necessary for a 3 minute pop song, but if I haven't learned this yet...

Ugh so uninspired but I don’t wanna break my streak. Never fear ShoehornTC, I’ve been solidly writing songs that consistently get poor reviews. I should’ve quit ages ago if they were any indication but I’ll probably toss together some G & G slow ball about COVID anyway

Voice is all but gone. I'll be out unless I do some noise rock with a low, phlegm induced whisper on top of it. Which I won't.

4th fight missed in a row! I'm starting a new streak! An absent streak! Circle of Titles/SF Live/subversive kids music album with my wife are pulling me away. But I do like this title and want to hear what non-COVID topics people warp it into.

You could find a guest vocalist. (I would volunteer but we have visitors staying with us so I can't do it.)Pigfarmer Jr wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 5:19 pmVoice is all but gone. I'll be out unless I do some noise rock with a low, phlegm induced whisper on top of it. Which I won't.

I'm in with a song inspired by Karma Police but it sounds nothing like the original song.

Re: Where do you think you're going? (This Isn't Over Yet prefight)
Critical Rave Theory took a pass this week. Hopefully, we’ll return to the ring soon.
Aside from travel and family stuff picking off my band mates, I spent the weekend doing the music for a 48-Hour Film Fest entry. It was great fun, a stimulating challenge, and for the first time scoring a film, I’m generally pleased with the musical outcome.
I credit SongFight.org for prepping me for competitive musical creation under a deadline. Have any of you ever done these? Any advice for the next one I do?

Re: Where do you think you're going? (This Isn't Over Yet prefight)
I did a 48hfp a few years back! It was really fun being involved, although I would rather be behind the scenes than on camera! I wrote a song for the credits but someone else did most of the sound design. I was really impressed with the quality of some of the entries. Has yours been posted somewhere? You should share it!Nanja Sorya wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 8:13 amCritical Rave Theory took a pass this week. Hopefully, we’ll return to the ring soon.
