Have an idea for this that I've been wanting to do for a while, has to do with needing a song that starts in one key and ends in another... the lyric came quickly, it's already done, but the recording is going to take a while. We'll see if it works out, but I'm trying to keep the streak going here...

I love this title but I just don't have the time to write for it. Too busy with a piano technician home study course and doing a couple different covers for other things...still wanna hear the song though, this title is rad.

I've decided that the experiment I was trying with my song was too complicated, I'd never get it finished, so I've worked up some music for Jeff's lyrics instead... it's gonna be a better song than what I was fiddling with...

Jeff, FYI, here's how KA does collabs: the song will be submitted as "King Arthur," (since I'm the performer) but in the lyric thread and the MP3 tags it will list you as lyricist. I'll make some minor changes to the lyrics, but I won't claim co-lyricist credit. And the music spoke to me in a way that... umm, isn't "Dead Flowers." Oh, well...

The fact that I'm working with Jeff's lyrics does not prevent anybody else from using them also, I just thought I'd let people know I'm using them and let Jeff know how I operate :-)

So, for those who don't follow me on FB (98% of you) I had a massive panic attack Thursday nite. And I have zero energy for anything until I recover. So I'm out. Got you next time, SF.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

I’ve just recently crossed paths with a musician/producer/gear collector who shares the joy of instant song creation, so naturally he was willing to have a go at a fight.
Couldn’t resist this title.

I actually gave “Random Word Generator” a 10 second consideration.
Thanks.

Submitted. Didn't do that challenge because I didn't want to use any instruments. You'll probably like it or hate it.

I often start SongFights but rarely finish. I just happened to be toying around with a blues-rock type riff lately that was *perfect* for this title ... when I saw "Lightning Rod" was the title I knew I had to do it. Total AC/DC, Ted Nugent, ZZ Top, sort of pastiche.

Didn't have time to really polish this one or finish every instrument, but I think the bones of the song are fun and the main riff is a blast to play. Wish I could have figured out something better for the end, but my attempts to add a bridge or a guitar solo totally sucked and made the whole thing drag. Excited to hear everyone's tunes!

Sending in my song, with lyrics from the Lyric Marte by Jeff Robertson. Some technical and performance weaknesses, but I think the song came out well. Anyway, now I can get on with voting and reviewing the current fight...

Excellent that somebody was able to make use of those lyrics.

I submitted late, right when the songs were being posted. It will appear. My co-writer this week was Wikipedia - had to confirm some facts about the subject of my entry.

Listening Party Update -
I'm in another late meeting at work, so it looks like the start will be delayed to at least 10pm EST.
