"A percussion instrument you've never used before" has so many possibilities. For example:

• Easy mode: acquiring/borrowing an instrument that you've not used before
• Using a non-percussion instrument as a percussion instrument
• Using a random thing as if it were a percussion instrument you're familiar with (such as cardboard boxes and pizza tins, which is ruled out for me since I already did that one)
• Inventing a new percussion instrument and giving it an appropriately weird name
• Hard mode: Soaking a towel in honey and using it to agitate a bear

I think I'll try sampling a lawnmower and a stapler.

I think I'll try sampling a lawnmower and a stapler.

Although come to think of it, the phrasing makes it seem like it can't be anything you've used at all. Like, I've actually used lawnmowers and staplers before (for mowing lawns and attaching sheets of paper together), so maybe that's out of bounds.

I'm in with a song a wrote mostly while on a hike, typing lyrics on my phone and mumbling into a voice memo.

I can't get it out exactly the same as it was in my head, but I was surprised how much I could outline on the hike without an instrument. I suppose practice will make this easier.

And I skipped the optional challenge.
