Re: The only music I know... (pre-fight)
OK words written, obscure transliteral pun buried in verse two, tune bouncing round head, collaborator secured, night free to record. Good lord, I might actually be making my return, mes bichons!
Only one French word in the lyric, but if anyone wants to hear me massacre la langue Francais (une autre fois), ably assisted by the mighty Balham on drums, then listen to two man punk riffage "Les Gitanes Téléchargeables" over at 50 / 90
It is already too late to run to the hills.

I do believe that the literal translation for this is: "Woo! The mighty return of Monsieur W...T...F"nyjm wrote:Woo! The mighty return of Monsieur Jean Distributeur Automatique de Billets!

Re: The only music I know... (pre-fight)
I accidentally wrote something while waiting for dinner to microwave. Five verses, of which two are good, and no chorus at all. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Now to find time to record...
[edit] make that four verses and a bridge, four of which are good. Still no chorus. NOW I EAT.
[edit too] goddamn it, I wrote an early beatles song, and I have no idea how to record a beatles song. Anyone here stuck for a title who wants to knock it out based on my vocal reference track?

Re: The only music I know... (pre-fight)
I had some ideas for a song with absolutely no French in it, and no mention of the title. It was just going to be a song about running away and surrendering. The first line of the song would have been something like "You came on like the Blitzkrieg", and the first line of the second verse would have been something like "You had my back to the sea."
Unfortunately, that was as far as I got, and I wouldn't have had time to work on it anyway, since I am entertaining out-of-town guests this week.
So, this concept is my gift to anyone who is still struggling to pull something off and has the time tonight.

Did Beatles-esque drums and harmonies, but I'm out of time and energy, so I'm posting as-is. Because the most important thing is making the fight list as long as possible!
Re: The only music I know... (pre-fight)
Best song i could ever do, talking about, i was swinging on a bar stool when she came, thru the door. She had a sack of dirty clothes and a cheap guitar on her back. She grabbed a stool by me, then eyed the crowd.Asked me for a smoke and if i would buy a round. Chorus Thats the only french i,ve ever known, but i'd like to know some more. These shitty recordings are killing me

Had the words and music but couldn't get the recording to sound right - threw the lyrics in Ye Olde Lyric Marte

song sent in, guy 'n' electric guitar this time, I even spared y'all the synth flute solo. cover art uploaded. lyrics (which I think are some of the better ones I've done in a while) in the archive.
apologies to all for not having done reviews in a long time, but hopefully the cover arts count for something...

Done, submitted. The realisation of the song didn't quite live up to my idea, sadly. But you'll get to hear it in all its scrappy glory anyway.

Done and in. I think we actually managed a proper duet this time.
Also, who wants a translation of the lyrics?

Ding! I'm in. I screwed up the title. Deal with it.
