Re: One can only hope (prefight thread)
When Song Fight musicians fill themselves with good spirits, it often leads to failure. For proof, read the fdrink thread.

I have been erroneously convinced of my own songitude when filled with the spirit (!!!!) and exposed the fdrinking thread enough to my fomtoolery that my spellcheck recognizes 'fdrinking,' 'fdrunk,' and 'fdrink.'

I know y'all don't take suggestions for fight titles, but if next week's is "Continue to Fail" I'll see about arranging a porn star of your choice to administer individual blowjobs on everyone.

Re: One can only hope (prefight thread)
There's a great big thread for title suggestions, and Fightmasters have pulled from it exactly thrice. So basically, just enough to get your hopes up, eh?Father Bingo wrote:I know y'all don't take suggestions for fight titles, but if next week's is "Continue to Fail" I'll see about arranging a porn star of your choice to administer individual blowjobs on everyone.

What are the three titles they used from the thread?Generic wrote:There's a great big thread for title suggestions, and Fightmasters have pulled from it exactly thrice. [edit] the reason I ask is because I noticed "Dirt Nap" is a SF title, and I'm *positive* I suggested that at one time or another but can't find my post where I did. Or maybe it was a bad band name suggestion.

Re: One can only hope (prefight thread)
The three I had in mind were "Monkeys on my Back" (suggested by Bjam), "I'm Outstanding" (suggested by John M) and "Hold This For Me" (suggested by me). I also suggested one which got used when Deep Throat wasn't prompt enough with the title, but it didn't come from the title suggestions thread, so I didn't count it.Märk wrote:What are the three titles they used from the thread?Generic wrote:There's a great big thread for title suggestions, and Fightmasters have pulled from it exactly thrice. There have been three versions of this Forum, so it's possible you suggested "Dirt Nap" in one of the previous iterations and it's been lost forever. If so, that would make four, I guess.

Re: One can only hope (prefight thread)
Our entry's a little... schizoid. We threw a Songfight party, gave people a basic form and lyric structure, asked them to write a verse (about something they felt always made things get better - got some very silly results) and then play whatever they wanted over a long loop of the form. I stole the form from Alvin Robinson/Old Crow Medicine Show, but what the hell, can you really steal a 24 bar blues? At least I changed the key. We had a good time, ate, poured spirits down our throats (ignoring their tiny screams) and just got goofy in front of microphones.

We're working on an entry. Here's the first sketch. And because it sounds like Dan Fogelberg on valium, here's the second. Ugh. It might not be worth it.

Re: One can only hope (prefight thread)
I am in. inspired by last week's discussion I recorded entirely on my iPad using Garageband. I didi utilize a recording dock and microphone, but no additional software, except I used iTunes to convert to mp3 since Garageband will only export an m4a.
Missing the track by track eq and compression.
