Re: Get a jump on this one (prefight)
To elaborate, Joey was in a motorcycle wreck a little over a week ago. He broke his guitar playing hand, along with numerous other bones. He's back home now recovering, but won't be playing, working, etc. again for at least 3 months. At first the doctors thought he was going to need surgery on his hand, but now they're not saying not. So that's one bit of good news.
I'm hoping to do the album art for this one, as I have a picture of Joey giving the thumbs up while being strapped to a stretcher.
This means a lot to Joey. He'd entered 10 songfight contests in a row up until his wreck.
Thanks in advance, and thanks again to JB for thinking of this.

We've submitted as The Hiss Brothers.
Didn't realize there was a real accident behind the song title. Our lyrics are about a dude who gets crap kicked out of him for basically being an asshole... No relation to the bike crashing Joey, though! Hope he's doing okay.

You are not required to refer to the inspiration for the title, so don't worry about it.fretnoize wrote:We've submitted as The Hiss Brothers.

Klownhole curiously came to understand the inspiration of the title and managed to incorporate it into the song. Well. Mostly. It is our best attempt to send a get well soon card, made with love like a half-wit 5 year old. All snot and eyeboogers.

Re: Get a jump on this one (prefight)
I didn't realize the inspiration either, we automatically had our friend Joey come over to help, he's previously heard on our nur ein entry for Silver Tongue. We are instantly the forerunner in the competition for saying Bitch the most. I hope the real Joey gets well soon, getting injured sucks but at least you did it while being cool

Re: Get a jump on this one (prefight)
I think this is my worst songfight submission ever
Thats a tough title to write a good song to..
I tried to get this tune done in one day so its pretty bad

I went through a few different ideas yesterday before coming up with something... I like the chorus. The rest may be a bit forced.

Not only would Balance Lost like to donate the proceeds of our song to charity. I will also match the figure we raise out of my own pocket. [Donation button out of order]
Musical inspiration this week came from Cap'n Jazz, the vocal style was influenced by Cap'n Jazz and the lyrics are based on the lyrical stylings of Cap'n Jazz which is all combined into a proto-emo nugget much in the vein of Cap'n Jazz.

I'm looking forward to hearing your submission, Havent heard any jazz about Cap'n jazz in a while.
