SpinTunes 17 sign-ups open!

Post by MicahSommer »

Hello everyone. Since Dave has retired from running the SpinTunes contest, I have volunteered to take over, and I am pleased to announce that SpinTunes 17 will run from March 6 to May 1, 2021.

The sign-up page is here, and contestants have through March 5 to sign up.

The full schedule is posted here. It's a four-round elimination tournament; each round is two weeks long (nine days to write your song, five days for judging). If you competed last year, the rules are the same. The official rules can be found here.

I'll be posting the challenges and results here in addition to the SpinTunes website. Tommy G will host Listening Parties on Monday evenings as he has so faithfully done in the past.

I hope you'll join us!

I'm very excited for a new SpinTunes! Thanks, Micah for stepping up and into Dave's big shoes to keep the tradition going!

Well this is most likely beyond my capability, but I got some pretty good feedback from my boss today, so maybe I might be a bit excited about my abilities - who knows?

If you've survived this long in SongFight, SpinTunes is definitely within your capabilities. :)

Well, Toshiro has agreed to be part of this (which is exactly the kind of thing I always need), so rackwagon has entered SpinTunes.

Bless you all

I figure if I can go a year and a half and only skip 3 or 4 proper SongFights, I can do Spintunes. I'm in.

Night Sky is foolhardily in. Anyone know if confirmation emails should come automatically or if they involve human intervention? I signed up a few hours ago and remain unconfirmed.
Night Sky is Sally on lyrics, Steve on drums, and Matt on the other stuff
