Who Got Da Funk?

Post by ken »

I think Lunkhead and Glenn Case need to collaborated on a funk song. Who's with them?

I'm interested too! I've got a couple things on my plate right now, but perhaps later this month I'll be free to give this a go. Let's keep an eye out for good titles.

I'd be all about this. Funk is probably the one genre I have down without a doubt. I can lay down guitar, bass, or turntable well (my drumset is shitty and I only have one 57 at the moment so live drums are not a possibility right now) so if anybody needs anything let me know. :D

EDIT: I just was told about this site a couple weeks ago, and i haven't posted anything yet so if you want and idea of my funk skills I could send you something. I'll probably be submitting a song this week though so I'll let you know my name when I do (i won't be using "toddlans") if its funk.

Good point. This thread is like 6 months old and STILL no Lunkhead/Glenn Case funk collab? I guess they aren't as funky as they would like us to think. Yes. I'm calling you two out. Bring the funk or else...

I could help out with some of that if anyone would be willing to give me that oppertunity.

Heheh, I JUST saw this.

I admit to having just been too damned busy as of late.

I do think I have a creative bubbling up. I just 'feel' it. We will see what comes of that.

ROCK!

I'm still game for this, too. Glenn, the thing I have the hardest time doing is writing lyrics. If one of these weeks we decide to collab it would definitely be easier for me if you brought some lyrics and I could start bouncing some music ideas off of you, probably starting out with bass lines or guitar riffs. I might have time this week, or possibly next week, though after that might be better for me.

OK, cool. I can do the lyric thing, and actually I work best with bass guitar on funky stuff.

We will see what comes of this :)

OK... I just moved, and only yesterday got my recording setup set up. Next weekend is SF! Live, and I'll be working a lot the week after that, but then I'll be heading into a period where I'll theoretically have more time for this. However, I haven't done the 'net collaboration thing yet, so Glenn, you would have to take the lead, there.

Sounds like a plan to me, señor.

Perhaps it is time to show and prove that we can be Fuhn-kay!

Far be it for me to suggest that anyone who uses the term 'Fuhn-kay' is on a loser when it comes to being funky :)

Only joking - having just been boogieing (boogying?) to Pickitywitch, Ottawan and others, I would heartily reccomend that what Songfight needs more of is not in fact science but disco-funk!

Less talk more rawk. Or funk as the case may be.

Huh, lunk and case. Interesting.
