Choral Arrangement

Post by ken »

Is anyone out there experienced in and able to help me turn a song with melody/chords into a standard SATB vocal choir arrangement? I'd like to give this treatment to a song I wrote for FAWM.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks!

Hmm, well, I've sung in some church choirs and know a little bit about this sort of thing... if you want me to take a look at it, I could mess around in Finale and see what I can come up with...

Awesome! Thanks guys!

Maybe later I will post the vocal melody and chords and if anyone wants to practice their arrangement skills it will be a resource for that.

SATB-fu!

If you need an extra voice, I can fill the male alto spot pretty good.

By the way, I've used a plug-in I found here in the plug-in thread. Here > http://www.cloneensemble.com/cl_main.htm
I used the free version. Not as good as real multi voices, but sounds ok once it's buried in the mix.

When I want to do a choir I just record my own voice like a dozen times, and apply different vocal transformer settings to each one. Then I add a lot of reverb. I've only done that in a couple songs (notably Convalescence where I also put a hard autotune on it to make it sound like a chorus of demented robots) so YMMV.
