Lunkhead wrote:Well, there is sort of an historical precedent of using "... with (collaborator)" from the "Postcard" fight. Several folks collaborated with Patrick Clayton of The Suzies.
True but Patrick Clayton made actual recorded sounds in those collaborations, didn't he? It's kinda like, you wouldn't say "Blowin' in the Wind" by Joan Baez with Bob Dylan. It's (performed) by Joan Baez, and the composer is Dylan.

I'll go with Niveous Presents [bandname] if and only if a majority of other people agree to do that. Otherwise, id3 tags. But more importantly, got to make a song first.

I think I'll just put my name on it directly, otherwise it'll be harder to argue I owe no royalties to Niveous when I make a billion on this thing. On a more serious note, good lord, I gotta get to work on this thing. I'll do my damnedest to get it in on time, but either way I promise to make a song out of this great lyrics.

Same for me, so that's two provisional votes for the tag. It makes sense semantically, and each song will be filed with the contributor's existing collection. (Otherwise every song will be filed as a single "artist" entry.) But I understand the honorific purpose of "Niveous Presents," and I'd support doing it that way if it's the consensus.

Okay, let me just make this easy for everyone (especially for myself because I do archival stuff). Just give me a mention in the id3 tags somewhere.

We could use the "album" tag. It's displayed in some players (certainly Windows Media Player). I usually put "Song Fight! 2015" (or whenever), but I'd be happy to put "Niveous' Lyrical Marathon."

The music is composed. These are great lyrics to work with, by the way.

A gigantic thank you to all the bands who took part in this. I feel like one of the luckiest s.o.b.'s in the world. To be able to be apart of so many great songs and work with such great bands is a privilege. You guys rock.
