TRACKS FOR FUTURE PRACTICE
by JBB

Back in school
I was so foolish
Sitting still
As a statue
When I should've been moving
Faster

My memories
My history
All the hours alone
The solitude of practice

My memories
My regrets
No time for wasted talk
No time to steal a kiss

Hey mom
Hey dad
I'm gonna be famous
Just like Amos
And Shirley Temple too

It's gonna pay off
Some time soon
All the effort I've put in
All my artistry

I'm gonna take off
To the moon
I'll show you all
Then you'll see

The worth of sacrifice
And all those times I said goodbye
And all those tracks for future practice
I set aside for other days that never came

Hey mom
Hey dad
I'm gonna be famous
Just like Amos
And Shirley Temple too

Hey mom
Hey dad
It's me up there
In the air
I'll see you both real soon

"Tracks For Future Practice" by Duboce Triangle

I thought you told me it would be easy but here I am
I cannot seem to do it, I cannot seem to make it work
Although I swear I understand
It just takes practice, it just takes practice
You spend an hour, you spend a day
You spend forever, until you get it
And when you get it, it never goes away
I thought you told me that simplicity itself was on our side
But here I'm standing, confounded and delayed
I wouldn't worry but the hurry that I'm in
And yes I'm curious as sin, how do you do it every day

Won't have to practice in the future
'Cause we'll be perfect and we'll be proud
Won't have to practice, not in the future
We'll take perfection and track it down

I thought you told me that it was over
You never said that, I made it up
What if you did though, I mean what if we just called it off
I've already tried so many times, don't know for what

(We'll track it down...)

tracks for future practice

i don't want to forget
i don't want to be forgotten
life doesn't have to be a string of regrets
on a path from ripe from rotten
'cause we've got time to make things right
we've got the miracle of second sight
but we gotta go now baby so hold on
and i'll hold you tight

i'm okay and you're all right
we're gonna find ourselves on the other side
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we won't be denied
i'm all right and you're okay
we're gonna find ourselves along the way
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we will have our day

there's a line in the sand
don't you want to be on my side?
take a chance and take my hand
we'll be on our way with the morningtide
even though this trip may be our last
there's no time to revel in the past
but we gotta go now baby so hold on
and i'll hold you fast

i'm okay and you're all right
we're gonna find ourselves on the other side
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we won't be denied
i'm all right and you're okay
we're gonna find ourselves along the way
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we will have our day

and when the night closes in
i promise to be there
and when your days are wearing thin
i promise to be there
and when you cry
i will cry
and i will whisper in your ear

i'm okay and you're all right
we're gonna find ourselves on the other side
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we won't be denied
i'm all right and you're okay
we're gonna find ourselves along the way
when they examine our tracks for future practice
we will have our day

Tracks For Future Practice
by Octothorpe

[Side One]
The old twenty nine goes shooting by.
Watching the trains from a roadside cafe.

Henry Henry kicks a stone.
His British accent is thick.

Her eyes are a tribute to her memories.
Thier aquaintence had long since lapsed.

They meet in front of the station.
Trains go careen by on the rusty tracks.

[Side Two]
How silly they are, they don't remember.
He is her son and she gave him up young.

He has that British twang, covered in dirt.
She was traumatized and turned to alcohol.

Thier skills with people are very poor.
They should use them more frequently.

They will speak more and become close.
Talking by tracks for future practice.

[Side One]
Gary Oldman has an ancient music set.
Complete, even including an eight track.

He has rich sleek untamed style.
Reminds us of a similar pound sign.

He was Martin back in eighty eight.
A medical doctor with an odd fixation.

His wife grows bored and leaves him to be
alone with his great train set of mystery.

[Side Two]
Racing down the stairs, too quick to care.
She rushes out in to the street, running.

The gut renching feeling arrives with a smack.
An odd music is abound, with a very old sound.

She rushes to the contraption, it had started up.
It is very confusing, with no convention in mind.

She wants to turn it off, and will have to again.
She is operating an eight track for future practice.
