Another Mystery Solved
Phlebia
Come in with a gaping hole in your chest
It appears to me your wifey simply isn't impressed
She's shocked -- and anxious -- and rightfully pissed
If you want to play war games, why don't you just enlist?
You were kicking it old school with your ammunition
No safety check, and a fool's intution
How could you think that nothing would go wrong
Why did you and your dumbass friend decide to make a
BOMB!!!
Run, Alex, run! I can see that it spooked ya
When that dude's BFF told you they made a bazooka
Put down the scalpel, evacuate the room
One wrong move and you will all die with a
BOOM! Hand inside tamponading the wound!
You tried to save a life but you might be doomed!
It's your first day on the job and now you feel entombed
If it goes off, pink mist, nothing to be exhumed
You know they might just find a finger or a thumb at the most
It's like they turned up the heat and now you're starting to roast
You're just twenty two years old but now you might be toast
You might find common ground with Casper the Friendly Ghost
[solo]
Stuck in the room and you're staring at the clock just like
tick
tock
tick
tock
Stuck in one place, breaking out in cold sweat, it goes
drip
drop
drip
drop
Stuck in the room and you're staring at the clock just like
tick
tock
tick
tock
Stuck in one place, breaking out in cold sweat, it goes
drip
drop
drip
drop
AHHH!!! SHE CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE
She pulled her hand out and she's running out of the door!
Got a team of 3 surgeons dropping down to the floor!
Cause the sudden movement might have detonated the core!
Grey swoops in cause she always gets involved
Cause Hannah's sole responsibility is absolved
How will this conundrum ever be resolved?
Well this song is over so that mystery won't be solved.

Brother Baker - Another Mystery Solved
I wouldn’t know a good deal if it bit me in the face
And every plan seems toothless till it proves it’s not
I keep looking for teeth but ignoring my
senses - (ignoring that)
Trust costs too little
And I’m too quick to sell it
I never smell a bad deal when I kiss it on the face
I never feel the teeth although I stick my tongue in
What am I saying? You seem pretty sweet.
The kind of mystery I want to dig right into
Trust costs too little
And I’m too quick to sell it
At least now I know, at least now I know
I’m at it alone
And I’m so quick to sell it
You were so eager to
Get me involved
And now it’s still promises

what is the answer
don't even know the question
there's obviously a problem
one of our own creation
maybe it's time to stop and assess
the situation, look outside of yourself
and see it's not about you
there, you're welcome

Another Mystery Solved - Brown Word and the Big Whine
Would you like to know
What lies beyond all time?
What whimsy pulls the shoe strings
That make a person's mind?
Come taste the magic
A whiff of the arcane
The universe is full of secrets
Most without a name
All that is unknown
Lies covered in a fog
Will we live on to see the
Mystery, mystery solved?
Would you like to see beyond
Expand your cosmic gaze?
What spiders weave the little webs
That make a person's fate?
Can you hear the drum
In the pounding of your blood
The roar of all creation
Cacophony of love
Taste the flesh of gods
Breathe the spirit deep
Imbibe now the sacred host
And all the power in its keep
All that can't be known
Lies covered in a fog
Will we live on to see the
Mystery, mystery solved?

Another Mystery Solved - Night Sky
It was a cold dark night
The moon the only light
Except the lights in the distance
The town lit for Christmas
I was out for an evening stroll
To the local watering hole
When from somewhere nearby
I heard a startled cry
From a child perhaps
Though it mighta been a cat
My mind set on the whiskey at the bar
To dull the lonely ache in my heart
I kept right on walking
Then a sound so shocking
I heard from behind
I turned around to find
The sound of crackling snow and hoofbeats
That had pierced my lonely peace
There was an old man talking to
Some aging caribou
He’d fastened to his sled
As through the night they sped
Somewhere deep in my memory
I recalled an old mystery
Of innocence and joy
I’d known as a boy
Gave the old man a nod
That old mystery solved
But what of the cry I’d heard before
This I could no longer ignore
I followed my own tracks
As i made my way back
This time i noticed
What before i had missed
An old shack set deep off the road
The long dark path hidden by snow
The shack was in need
Of repair that was clear
Inside lights were twinkling
And I had an inkling
That the old man and his caribou,
His sled so full, had something to do
With the shriek I’d heard
I guessed what had occurred
I knocked on the door
And there stood a boy
Behind him a small gift by the tree
On his face only wonder and glee
I stayed with him a while
And thought about his smile
As i walked home in awe
And that was another mystery solved
It was a cold dark night
The moon the only light

Hey there David Icke, time to get truth-y
'Cos Die Hard is a total Christmas movie
The plot even starts with a highjacked Christmas party
So ho ho ho - there's no controversy
And if I could maybe be so bold (just an anti-vaxxer)
Truth be told, a truth has been told (come to spoil the party)
So another mystery's been solved (call you a a taxi)
In the football match of facts, well, that's another goal ...
Hey there television, bit long in the toothy
To die on the hill of something so fruity
Also there's no Santa, no Jesus, no naughty list
The Loch Ness Monster does not exist
And if I could maybe be so bold (just an anti-vaxxer)
Truth be told, a truth has been told (come to spoil the party)
So another mystery's been solved (call you a a taxi)

Another Mystery Solved by Cloverdance
When I was a kid it was work work work until Saturday
I would wake up early without an alarm so I could go and play
Mom would turn on the TV
And she’d smile and say to me
You can stay here in this room and watch all day
She’d set me up with snacks and turn up the sound
Dad worked every weekend he was not around
Uncle Mike came by to fix
Up the garden or broken bricks
I’d hear them laugh as they would leave and not come down
It’s another mystery solved
I never understood
Why Scooby-Doo mattered
The way he would
By lunchtime Uncle Mike would ask about Scooby-Doo
And what hijinks Velma and Shaggy had got into
I would tell him the whole thing
And together we would sing
Scooby Scooby Doo, Scooby-Doo where are you
My Dad never cared what I said or what I did
But Uncle Mike would tell me I was his favorite kid
At Christmas time the gifts
Were better than I could have wished
My Easter candy was more than my basket fit
It’s another mystery solved
I never understood
Why Scooby-Doo mattered
The way he would
Now I’m grown up and I was looking at my DNA
And Dad is not my father I’m sorry to say
Uncle Mike is dead and gone
But I think I know the one
That Mom spent more time with on Saturday
It’s another mystery solved
I never understood
Why Scooby-Doo mattered
The way he would

The Pannacotta Army
Learning the ropes
One day at a time
Finding our feet
First your needs then mine
Is it strange
To think love can just evolve?
But two months from now we could find
That’s another mystery solved
Spreading our wings
Learning to fly
Our heads in the clouds
As we reach for the sky
We could fall
But we’ll never know unless we’re bold
Throw caution to the wind
And another mystery’s solved
Climbing the path
That leads to the top
Try not to look....
down
Into the drop
Don’t be scared
My hand’s there for you to hold
There isn’t much further to go and

Another Mystery Solved - Giraffes for Wings
Shhhhhhh!
Rats in the walls
That’s another mystery solved
Three inches of space
Between the panel and the inner hull
Some nights I stand and stare
Into the terrarium
Till what I saw on that tape
Just dissipates
Rats in the walls
That’s another mystery solved
Three inches of space
Between the panel and the inner hull
I see my friends recess
Into the emptiness
One by one, head over heels
Like the reel-to-reels
Rats in the walls
That’s another mystery solved
Three inches of space
Between the panel and the inner hull
And I may never know how these people got hired
But I’ve sussed out what’s going on with all these goddamn wires
Blood streaks down the hall
Blue and yellow are dead and gone
But rats in the walls
That’s another mystery solved

I saw you there in your long black coat
With a bowl of pork lo mein,
Your wet hair clinging to your throat,
Since you’d walked there in the rain.
It seemed like nobody else was there,
Even though the place was packed.
Like you were lit by a spotlight’s glare
While everyone watched enrapt.
You left me with a mystery
That I didn’t try to solve:
Just one day in my history
That memory would dissolve.
At a raging party on New Year’s Eve,
I saw you once again.
An enigma worn on your satin sleeve,
That you would not unpin.
With shoulders bared, but hard and cold,
And lips in a cryptic pout,
Before the midnight bells had tolled,
You stood and sauntered out.
You left another mystery
That I didn’t try to solve.
Everyone spoke of your history,
But I didn’t get involved.
Next spring in a class on circuit design
I sat far away from you.
When the final project was assigned,
They put us in the same crew.
We met at the sub next Wednesday night,
To subdivide our tasks.
You shared your garlic knots and Sprite
Although I didn’t ask.
I learned that you liked amphibians,
Especially frogs and toads,
That you grew up in the Caribbean,
And had never seen it snow.
We stayed there till they closed the place,
And the riddles were resolved.
The veil was lifted from your face—
Another mystery solved.

Another Mystery Solved - Tim Hinkle
Thinking back to the days
Before I saw her face
In the light of each Christmas display
Folk still chose to believe
On a cold Christmas Eve
They had cause to be jolly and gay
I hid under a chair
And I sat watching there
For the man I thought soon must pass through
But you’d never arrive
So I had to survive
With the knowledge not all dreams come true
I no longer believe in the lies
Though the truth at first was a surprise to me
The faith I had in you suddenly dissolved
It’s another mystery solved
Came home early that night
When the snow shone so bright
Peace and stillness did the world enwrap
I sat down to await
She’d said she’d be home late
Drifted off into a Christmas nap
She had me believing again
All magic might not be pretend
I sat up in my chair
Woken by the great blaring
Of ecstasy under the tree
Naked forms writhed conjoined
Then my love was purloined
Saw her whisked away up the chimney
Thinking back to the days
Before I saw her face
In the light of each Christmas display
Folk still chose to believe
On a cold Christmas Eve
They had cause to be jolly and gay
I hid under a chair
And I sat watching there

It’s another mystery solved
Came home early that night
When the snow shone so bright
Peace and stillness did the world enwrap
I sat down to await
She’d said she’d be home late
Drifted off into a Christmas nap
She had me believing again
All magic might not be pretend
I sat up in my chair
Woken by the great blaring
Of ecstasy under the tree
Naked forms writhed conjoined
Then my love was purloined
Saw her whisked away up the chimney

Another Mystery Solved
miscellaneous owl
A word on the glass left behind by a hand, revealed by the wash of your breathing,
Footprints in snow mark the passage of deer: their grazing, their pausing, their leaving
You declare another mystery solved
And all the mystery crumbles away
Stars fade as the glow of the dawn
Announces the violence of day
The lady vanishes, but it's all perfectly clear, the twist telegraphed from the start
And every clue traced in the shimmering mirror is a step towards the truth of the heart
You declare another mystery solved
And all the mystery crumbles away
Stars fade as the glow of the dawn
Announces the violence of day
Isn't night a little kinder?
Isn't night a little kinder?
All our secrets dissolve in the dark
All our secrets dissolve in the dark
All our secrets dissolve in the dark...

Another Mystery Solved - Hot Pink Halo
Teen detectives taught me that baked beans
Don’t have to come from tins
And that Porsches and porches
Are different things
It's another mystery solved
Another mystery solved solved solved solved
And another and another and another and another and another and another and
Another mystery solved
Page turners taught me how to cook canned ham
Although I’ve never tried it
And that being poor
Is not a crime
It's another mystery solved
Another mystery solved solved solved solved
And another and another and another and another and another and another and
Another mystery solved
But it wasn't until I read
Another whodunnit in 2020
That I finally learned
What grits are
Grits are (polenta)
It's another mystery solved
Another mystery solved solved solved solved
And another and another and another and another and another and another and
Another mystery solved

Another Mystery Solved
Pigfarmer Jr
You never told me the reason you left
You never said you didn't love me
One day you were here but the next you were gone
I could tell by the look in your eye
You saw me as a chain without a key
You never told me why you just said it was wrong
You said he's just a friend
You talk to now and then
You were never involved
But you were holding hands
With that other man
And now I know it's another mystery solved
Years go by and I think about you
And the bullet I was lucky to dodge
Sometimes it is strange, things can turn for the best
I love my wife and I love both my kids
I am happy in spite of the odds
Because of you I know how much I am blessed
You said he's just a friend
You talk to now and then
You were never involved
But you were holding hands
With that other man
And now I know it's another mystery solved
You said he's just a friend
