I'm a piece of shit
At least that's what she said
My head is firmly up my ass
I might as well be dead
I'm a piece of shit
It's posted on the web
They should force me to my knees
Beat me till I beg
Political discussions
On social media
You have to be an ass-hat
It's the main criteria
Both the left and right
Are firmly in their trenches
Hide behind their keyboard from
Potential consequences
I'm a piece of shit
At least that's what I read
I need to go and fuck myself
Or hang myself instead

Re: Potential Consequences
Potential Consequences - tomdg feat rox
I really want a coffee, I really want a beer
I really need a haircut and my friends to all be near
To go shopping, watch the football, have a party, celebrate
It’s my birthday and I sit at home like billy no-mates
Yes I’m sick of spending time in front of my nerdy computer
I even miss the traffic with the other commuters
When I wind down my windows turn the radio high
Miss the banter with my colleagues, makes the hours just fly by
But now I’m stuck at home, living through a pandemic
The disease feels remote, but the ennui is endemic
When the rules don’t take account of my own immune defences
I should be free to weigh up the potential consequences
‘cause I don’t believe in externalities
It ain’t real to me, if it don’t happen to me
And I just can’t see, why we all can’t be
Free
Statistical equations just flow over my head
Five hundred to one against me ending up dead
I’m sick of isolating, I am not afraid to live
My spending feeds the economy I have plenty to give
To the pool hall, the local where I drink with my mates
The sandwich bar, the restaurant where I take all of my dates
And everyone who works there now are left on the shelf
It’s wrong to say that in all this I just think for myself
They don’t need compensation, just let them go out and work
This is simple common sense don’t look at me like I’m a jerk
Perhaps it’s time that people rose and came to their senses
And not just sit here fretting ‘bout potential consequences
‘cause I don’t believe ...
I’m not weak, why should I live as if I am
I’m not old, why should I live as if I am
I’m not weak, why should I live as if I am
I’m not old, why should I live as if I am
Winding down my windows turn the radio high x 3
‘cause I don’t give a damn about potential consequences
I really want a coffee, I really want a beer

Potential Consequences
by Lichen Throat
Bury their hearts with a drum machine,
Under the waves in a submarine.
Read their names on the big marquee.
The flood looks like IATSE.
Sing about things they don’t sing about.
When will the underground club sell out?
Hard to pull off wordplay, but they might;
Everything’s wrong, but it feels so right.
Forget the potential consequences;
They can barely meet expenses.
Bike crash leads to a broken wrist;
Record more songs so they won’t be missed.
Listen for free if you call from work;
Reviews on Usenet, where I lurk.
Pack the van for a long road trip,
Hundreds of songs at their fingertips.
Spend their days on the nightclub trail;
Far from Brooklyn with its squid and whale.
Accept the potential consequences;
Days run together as time condenses.
Lose the tapes, hire a band;
All the guys are John or Dan.
Out of jail, end the tour,
Make each reference more obscure.
Add more styles to the repertoire,
But they’ll never be gigantic stars.
Careful with songs that have brand names,
Or nineteenth century guys named James.
One of them hustles to and fro;
The other one naps before the show,
Different sides of the yang and yin.
Give their discs another spin.
Enjoy the potential consequences;
Hear the words the band dispenses.

Re: Potential Consequences
Potential Consequences
Phlebia
Heart beats
lights flicker
Seatbelts and
Stock tickers
Dead pines
I'm shivering
In my boots
You're deliverin'
Wormwood seeds
Tiny parcels
Medic trees
Intermission
Part the seas
Proceed to mix them
Separately
Your eyelid's twitchin'
Why is it that everyone's been getting treats?
No more serving up these bagels of deceit.
Why is it that everyone is grinding beans?
It's time bending, aroma-lending
Why is it that everyone's been sipping tea?
Prism in the kitchen window
What is it that everyone seeks for release?
Passionflower grows behind the trees.
I'm just waiting for your
consequences
You're on spin cycle with double rinses
I'm just waiting for your consequences
Snow white we paint the fences
Barn doors
Storage trailers
Duct tape
And bubble mailers
Leather suits
Detailers
Wooden shoes
And war regalia
Ceramic mugs
I'm fumbling
Half asleep
The wizard's mumblin'
Glass machine
Made of fireworks
Teach me, please
How money works
I wonder why the comet hates to be seen
And I find Russula constantly
Why do your ceiling tiles witness the obscene?
Don't want to talk about it,
Don't want to talk about it.
I'm still waiting for your consequences
Wasting water with your extra rinses
I'm just waiting for your consequences
Shoot a blow dart and you break the lenses

Re: Potential Consequences
Potential Consequences by spite
I didn't think until it was too late
I might have known it was absurd
The two were tied together, so I can confirm:
My actions were no louder than my words
I let down my defences
with potential consequences
I didn't know until after the fact
but the pieces were all there
the unknown is better left alone
lest the darkness be laid bare
I let down my defences
with potential consequences
I let go of my senses
with potential consequences
between the event and the aftermath
lies the wrecked remains of me
not broken by the backlash
but the possibility
I let down my defences
with potential consequences
I let go of my senses
with potential consequences

Potential Consequences - Sly Eli
Potential consequences
they don't faze me
I'm squeaky clean
I'm like a detergent tree
And if you want it
They'll take it away
All they do is bug you
They just ruin your day
They try to turn you into
something your not
They wrap you up into
A Gordian knot
And if you fight it
They'll break you in two
And put you back together
With their bourgeoisie super glue
All they do is bring you down
Robots gyring till you drown
Taking this is far too much
I prefer a human touch
Potential consequences
I've had my share
Like Judy Garland
And Fred Astaire
They didn't falter
They tore it apart
And put it back together
With the sum of their heart
Potential consequences

Potential Consequences - Night Sky
We were standing close love
Your hand so small in mine
Together in the yellow wood
I was paralyzed, trying to decide
Which way to walk which hill to climb
I felt your hand slip from mine
I turned to you I turned to you
And in that moment, you flew
How do I weigh potential consequences
Draw intelligent inferences
Square the roots of my indecision
When you have learned to fly?
I had to walk alone
Take a road I didn’t choose
Was I just a stepping stone
A good jumping-off point for you?
I walked away the soles of my shoes
My feet bruised my heart confused
Always my eyes always my eyes
Were searching the sky
How do I weigh potential consequences
Draw intelligent inferences
Square the roots of my indecision
When you have learned to fly?
Now here you are at last
Standing with me on the ground
My heart is beating so fast
Faster than the wings you somehow found.
Alone and to the earth bound
I never heard a sound
Sweet as the song you’re singing
Here with me in this clearing
Why should I weigh potential consequences
Draw intelligent inferences
Square the roots of my indecision
When we might learn to fly?
Why should I weigh potential consequences
Have we learned love is limitless?
We were standing close love
Your hand so small in mine
Together in the yellow wood
I was paralyzed, trying to decide
Which way to walk which hill to climb
I felt your hand slip from mine

Carbohydrates I know my fate
To grow and die why should I hate
I’m not scared that’s a lie
It’s not fair well that is life
Just get by avoid horrifics
Kill yourself without a witness
Everyday cigarettes
Stage 4 cancer big regrets
He turned your guts into clay
HIV turned into AIDS
You float farther larger ocean
Gave your grandmother the COVID
College dorm room mostly lit
Why did you try opiates
You dropped out and sold your books
You share needles now you’re hooked
Fast food all throughout your twenties
Now you’re obese and still hungry
Chinese buffet so innocent
How will you pay for insulin
For 20 years you got wasted
It’s too late for education
Snorting pills so harmlessly
Now you’re robbing pharmacies
If grandma could see you now
She died from COVID aren’t you proud
You in prison do not pass go
Your cell mate does not wear masks though
You get sick again it’s nasty
You burn up and you can not breathe
What is that burning smell
Your final place burn in hell

What if I did something stupid?
And then you were to film it?
Do you think we’d get famous?
It’s the only way this could go!
The grown ups try to tell me
Saying that I should think
Before I act, but really
What’s there to think about?
Potential consequences? haha
You wanna see something crazy?
Start the camera and follow me
Absolutely nothing can stop me
Smash the like button if you agree!
The grown ups try to tell me
Saying that I should think
Before I act, but really
What’s there to think about?
Potential consequences? haha
Well I just fell off the top of mommy’s car
We crashed into the trashcans and I broke my fucking arm
It hurts so fucking bad, mom and dad are fucking mad
They took my keys, not allowed to drive until next week
The grown ups try to tell me
Saying that I should think
Before I act, but really
What’s there to think about?
Potential consequences!

Re: Potential Consequences
Potential Consequences
by Here, Atticus
We’re meant to think about big decisions,
choices that push our life around
They never matter much to me
I know I need to ponder on the big ones,
stay running when I hit the ground
But I never seem to be
Running when I come back down
Running when I need the movement
Thinking through the cacophony of sound
Thinking how the last few times went
I chase distractions
I listen to the sour song they sing
I’m afraid to take actions
I shy away from what they can bring
If I’d just give me time to think
If I could stop right here and plant my feet
Maybe I’d be
Running when I come back down
Running when I need the movement
Thinking through the cacophony of sound
Thinking how the last few times went
(potential consequences)
I sow and sow
But the reaper and I don't
See quite eye to eye

Maybe I’d be
Running when I come back down
Running when I need the movement
Thinking through the cacophony of sound
Thinking how the last few times went
(potential consequences)
I sow and sow
But the reaper and I don't
See quite eye to eye

Potential consequences Duncan Martin
Gateway Park pigs nothing better to do
Than to toss the Boss in their Malibu
For taking a shot as he took in the view
At the station he blew a point zero two
Bruce you cut loose blue agave juice
fermented distilled down to 80 proof
It's pandemic safe to be sharing that bottle
but they'll stop you the minute you open that throttle
Asbury Park has their share of narcs,
but at least they’ll turn their cheek for a a swig in the dark
Ever notice how cops can take 41 shots
get acquitted no sooner they're back on the block
but a dram with some fans on your bike just seems right
then they'll cuff you right there in the parking lot light
Drinking spirits in the night
these potential consequences
keep your mouth shut tight
we'll handle your defense
You're 71, you rolled the dice and you
won, son
Community service never hurt anyone
That jeep ad aimed at nostalgia dads
And blue collar lads who buy pickup truck nads
They pulled it faster than plaster can dry on a cast
From a tractor that crashed in the southwestern pasture
Boss it's their loss it's their money being tossed
You'll pay a small price but they'll pay the true cost.
Trying to connect with the middle they claim
As they fire you for not being sufficiently tamed
Hawkin' Jeeps to pay the bills
These potential consequences
Sell your house in the hills
Don't swing for the fences
You're already rich and they might make a good pitch
But they'll drop you for optics leave you out in the ditch.
Aww rev 'em up like a deuce, cut the hangman’s noose,
head on home to Patty don’t call no truce
You’ve got more gold than an 1849 sluice,
tell the mad men it’s their ass that answers to Zeus
Optional fadeout meta-verse:
Singing songs like the boss is like learning the floss
One it’s absorbed it’s not easily lost
Just make multiple rhymes within each verse line
And play that Max Weinberg snare in 4 quarter time

Potential Consequences

(18.02.21 Song Fight!)
You came into my world without instruction leaflet.
How should I know how to treat you right?
I pushed your red button by mistake,
and now it's time for us to say good-night.
It no longer feels right to come home.
So, please stop to moan.
I'd rather like being alone.
I must go on.
I wasn't warned of the potential consequences,
but now I came to see.
Sorry for opening Pandora's Box.
Oh, why did you hide all that away from me?
It no longer feels right to come home.
So, please stop to moan.
I'd rather like being alone.
I must go on.
And play my favorite song.
Do-do-da-do-do…
It no longer feels right to come home.
So, please stop to moan.
I'd rather like being alone.
I must go on.
And play my favorite song… on Song Fight!

Potential Consequences - Sumner Sloane
Do you know what's at stake?
With the choice you make.
You can come and take it
But you better not take it from me.
If you settle down
and go underground
You can look around
But you better not go searching for me.
No amendment saves you from the things that you believe
Better think about that before you speak.
Potential Consequences for the life you want to lead
Better think about that before you proceed.
Do you know what's at stake?
With the choice you make.
You can come and take it
But you better not take it from me.
If you settle down
and go underground
You can look around
But you better not go looking for me.
Potential Consequences for the freak you choose to lead.
Better think about that when you get impeached.
Potential Consequences for the things that you believe
Better think about that when I'm taking a knee.
Believe what I believe
Grab a jersey - and join my team
Come sail away with me
and don't get lost at sea.
Don't you think outside the box
Don't you make the cradle rock.
There's Potential Consequences for your thoughts and deeds.

Re: Potential Consequences
Potential Consequences - Brown Word and the Big Whine
V1:
When the going gets tough and the tough get going
And everybody's stepping up to do their part
Try try again suddenly you ain't succeeding
Come to find out you were fucked from the start
Ch:
It seems like a logical turn of events
Expecting potential consequences
Brother let me say it takes a great imagination
To try and make up the shit some people get away with
V2:
When the left hand don't know what the right is doing
And you did a good turn but got left out in the cold
When there's any direction for the finger to be pointing
Many times the unexpected unfolds
Chorus.
Middle:
Well whoever said the definition of insanity
Is doing things the same and expecting something different
Must have been working with a simple machine
Expect the unexpected from a complicated system
V3:
Well it's plain as day there are some people who can lie
Who can shift the blame and never feel the fire
Tell me who's your lawyer who's the one who calls the witness
I'd like to see the everyman enjoy so much forgiveness
Chorus.

Potential Consequences
Hot Pink Halo
You had it coming
Was the line
And now we’re coming for you
There’s nowhere left to hide
I’m someone
With a life
Not simply someone else’s
Sister or wife
And she’s someone
She is a person
Not just a mother or a daughter here to
Teach you a lesson
You had it coming
Was the line
And now we’re coming for you
There’s nowhere left to hide
Now I’d hope you’d
Take a long hard
Look at yourself
I see you
But when you look in the mirror
There’s nothing there
If you can’t see yourself you can’t see us
Why would you care?
You had it coming
Was the line
And now we’re coming for you
There’s nowhere left to hide
Now I’ll cut to the chase
I’m not responsible for you or the
Potential consequences of
What you choose to do
Now I’ll cut to the chase
You have to pay for what you break
Nobody’s perfect but
But you’ve played
You’ve played the wrong mistakes
You had it coming
Was the line
And now we’re coming for you
There’s nowhere left to hide

Devastating Pop Machine
If I could borrow just a little bit of your time
let me bend your ear, spit a little rhyme
I think you’re focused on the wrong fear
too busy hating in your own mirror
Nothing’s simple, nothing’s easy, nothing falls in your lap
take the feeling, hit the ceiling, come and claw your way back, take it back
you want to do it, keep it moving till it’s moving no more
keep it beating, keep the feeling till they’re closing the door
keep on breathing, time is fleeting, feel the heat in your core, in your core
No I don’t want to see you fall, come and take a bow
No point in waiting, hesitating now — just take a
deep breath and push aside the ugliness, the pettiness
potential consequence of happiness

FireBear
You made up your mind
But I know you can see
All of the good in me
Look in my eyes
If you could only see
How my soul is untethered for you
When push come to shove
I hope you know
I will face whatever
Potential consequences
It's been 10 years
since you passed
your son has your eyes
I'll do my best to live my life
On the righteous side
When push come to shove
I hope you know
I will face whatever
Potential consequences
My doe will shine through the night
Darkness cannot fade my love for you my love it shines bright

Words and Music by Adam Pletsch
Am7 D7
Doubletalk and lies
Am7 D7
Just another day to tell stories
Em A C D
Trying to sell the world on all your former glories
Am7 D7
Tapping into the pain
Am7 D7
You strike a nerve with those who are losing
Em A C D
Then they do what you want, though it’s not of their choosing
Am7 D7
They broke into a house
Am7 D7
No idea what they just started
Em A C D
A lame invasion that left a nation broken-hearted
Am7 D7
They didn’t take all the cash
Am7 D7
Left the jewels and stereo system
Em A C D
Didn’t understand what they were truly missing
CHORUS
G Dm
And when they got back home
C Em D
With their hearts on their sleeves and the pictures they took
G Dm F C7
Then came that knock on the door, and the walls closing in, and just them on the hook

Am7 D7
Decision day in the House
Am7 D7
Break up your parties, and think of your children

You get the chance to protect what we’ve all been given

When the stakes are this high

And all you’re doing is sitting on fences

Don’t pretend you can’t see potential consequences
