Empty Wednesday by Nigel (spOOn) Clements
(Performed under the name Accessory Twelve)

People say it's just another day
But Wednesdays will never be the same
The sound of you closing that door
Echoes through my heart forever more

And the empty Wednesday
Haunts me for all time
And these empty wednesdays
Taunt me for all time

People say that life it does go on
Without you by my side there is no point
And every day is just lke that day
Eternally an empty Wedneday

And the empty Wednesday
Haunts me for all time
And these empty wednesdays
Taunt me for all time

You will excuse me
If I think it looks a little strange
To see you hanging
Around with him

People say it's just another day
But Wednesdays will never be the same
The sound of you closing that door
Echoes through my heart forever more

And the empty Wednesday
Haunts me for all time
And these empty wednesdays
Taunt me for all time

EMPTY WEDNESDAY / King Arthur

There's just not enough goth girls in this school;
They got a dress code from heaven
And too many rules.
It's somebody's idea of discipline,
You can't cause trouble
If we don't let you in.
We had one for a while, she was bussed in from hell
Nobody knows where she went,
And the teachers won't tell.

Empty Wednesday,
Spooky but slow.
Empty Wednesday,
Where did she go?
It was a private party
And they didn't want to let her play
She was too goth to rock
And so they rolled her away.

There just aren't enough sluts in my Spanish class
So few distractions
I might even pass.
Wedensday used to laugh when her grades would go down
She learned all the curse words
And none of the nouns.
I was gonna ask her to go to the prom,
Then she got expelled
For building a bomb.

(chorus)
The powers that be decided
She was too freaky to stay.

There are too many smiles in this prefab town,
Not enough darkness to go around.
Wednesday was different, so they sent her away
I still think about her every day.
A few more years and we'll all be the same -
Whose fault will it be when there's no one to blame?

(chorus)
It was a power struggle
And Wednesday wasn't gonna obey.

(repeat first chorus)
"...one does not write in dactylic hexameter purely by accident..." - poetic designs

Empty Wednesday

Saturday, woke up with this noise in my head
A sharp notice to me to get out of bed
Looks like the world’s in peril once more with some maniac at the wheel
So I guess it’s time to get to work.

Sunday, got the word the bank was robbed
APB put out on some sort of mutated blob
Guess I can’t rely on the army to field this one, so it out the door for me
Guess I have to go and save the day.

Monday’s an alien invasion. Tuesday’s a bout with radiation
Thursday usually means a trip to the moon.
Fridays bring me irritation. Saturdays are never a vacation.
Sundays I’m lucky if I can sleep til noon.
But right now it’s empty Wednesday.
This is my time to myself
If the world blows up tonight, it can wait ‘til morning.

Monday, got the call at the crack of dawn
Some green skinned fellows said “invasion’s on”
Blasted aliens have parked their flagship right over my house
Least today I don’t have to fight the traffic.

(CHORUS)

Tuesday night, turn off the alarm clock and shut out the lights
Plan to sleep a long time to make up six lost nights
What’s that you say? It’s Wednesday and the end for us all?
Well if you’ll leave your message I’ll make sure that I return your call…

(Soft CHORUS)

(CHORUS)

If the world blows up tonight, it can wait ‘til morning.
If the world blows up tonight, it can wait ‘til morning.
If the world blows up tonight, it can wait ‘til morning.
If the world blows up tonight…

You always keep your friends close to your heart,
cause they'll help you if you're falling down..."

Empty Wednesday

by Steve Durand

(a true story)

I took a job across LA
Seventy miles from my home
I fill my tank on Sunday night
Wednesday it's dry as a bone

Just the drive is bad enough
That I guarantee
But if the price of gas keeps going up
It's going to ruin me

So I've got to find a way
To maximize my MPG
I'll try to be a paragon
Of fuel economy

OPEC's got us by the short hairs
So I have to pay the toll
And focus on the things I can control

My driving habits had to change
No more racing to and fro
I proceed at a calmer pace
Sixty on the cruise control

I'll draft behind a big rig
Turn my motor off at lights
Coast down hills in neutral
Do whatever will suffice

'Cause I've got to find a way
To maximize my MPG
I'll try to be a paragon
Of fuel economy

OPEC's got us by the short hairs
So I have to pay the toll
And focus on the things I can control

It's actually kind of frustrating
How much fuel I consume
Every Sunday filling up
Wednesday coasting in on fumes

But I know that soon
My situation will improve
After suffering for a year
Next month I'm gonna move

Still I had to find a way
To maximize my MPG
I tried to be a paragon
Of fuel economy

OPEC's got us by the short hairs
So I had to pay the toll
And focus on the things I could control

Empty Wednesday - Paco del Stinko

Raised on corn and Jesus
She felt the father and not the host
He'd only stop when hell freezes
Off she went in a Greyhound for the coast

Empty Wednesday because she's full
Too much love from too many bulls
Reach down her throat and give her a pull
Her eyes turn the color of old grey wool

She thought she'd make it in the biz
Mansions and swimming pools and living large
But she was just another lost kid
Kicked around and treated hard

Once when the sun used to shine
As bright as a dandelion
Vanished purity and innocence
When papa strode home through the fence

The lights went off, she went home
Feeling trampled like a field of mud
In the dark she wasn't alone
Daddy's knife spilled out her blood

Empty Wednesday
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Empty Wednesday by Ignite Your Face

(Simultaneously)
5:30 AM Out of my bed
6 o’clock AM Read my Bible
6:30 AM Eat my breakfast
7 o’clock AM Leave for school
8 o’clock AM Start with English
Through 3 PM End with math
Obey the schedule All day, everyday
Slave of time A typical Tuesday

The schedule is absolute. It, I can’t break.
My best friend pleads with me: “for goodness sake,”
“You’ve got to break out of this regiment harmony.”
(Gotta break out, gotta break out)

The concert is Wednesday.
No, I can’t make Wednesday.
Come on, man. I’ll even pay.
I know what you’re gonna say,
All work and no play…
Our favorite bands are gonna play.
(Sigh) I guess I’ll go…

Empty Wednesday onto the ground
Enraptured in a rhapsody of riotous sound
I gave up the calendar for this mad cacophony
(Empty Wednesday onto the ground)

God has given the world to me
I stand here now, my life ahead of me

When I woke up this morning,
I was sitting on a cloud. I wanna
open up the windows and turn the amps up loud.
Midas touched my pocket,
but lined my boots with lead.
I'm planted in the garden with
clouds of ether up in my head.

Yesterday's as history as
footprints in the sand.
All day it's empty Wednesday, it's
tomorrow in Japan.
Tomorrow in Japan.

Calling all ye singers,
and basement balladeers.
C'mon and serenade me,
I can't bring myself to tears.

Yesterday's as hist'ry as footprints in the sand.
All day it's empty Wednesday, it's
tomorrow in Japan,
tomorrow in Japan.

Let's call it 'impressionistic'. I goofed on the singing in the chorus because I misplaced the lyric sheet (dumbass!). Oy vey.

When you go
If you leave
I won’t know
I will see
