Colourblind
In a world that's full of colors, she looks for a fight.
Cause she sees things as they always are, and never as they might.
She’s colourblind.
And she never listens to me.
She sees life colourblind.
And apparently, that’s just fine with her.
She’s memorized the book and if you say any different, then you’re wrong
She’s got it all figured out. And she has all along.
She can quote you and hate you and leave you out to dry
And she'll walk away and never bat an eye.
There’s not a speck of gray to a colourblind girl.
She’s got posters with the prettiest prisms on it,
And I know that she can see green
Yeah, she sees emerald green,
But she’ll never admit it,
Especially not to me.
And I’m blue in the face for being red with ambition
She just puts me in my place, says it’s my own volition.
And I feel so white.
Which is fine to her, cause it’s the only thing she sees anyways.
And I wish I could change her mind.
Teach her life is about going with the flow.
But she doesn’t want to listen.
She doesn’t want to know
To her, life is being colourblind.
(bridge)
She’s sleeping colourblind and she’s dreaming colourblind, but she’s not.
She’s dressing colourblind and confessing colourblind, but she’s not
She’s praying colourblind, conveying colourblind but she’s not.
She kisses colourblind and she makes love colourblind, but she’s not. No she’s not.
She’s fighting colourblind and she’s driving colourblind but she’s not.
She’s crying colourblind and she whispers colourblind but she’s not.
She’s breathing colourblind and she’s signing colourblind and
She’s talking colourblind and she’s tasting colourblind and
She’s thriving colourblind and she’s living colourblind and
She’ll probably die colourblind.
But she’s not, But she’s not
No she’s not.

Colourblind - Glen Raphael
Red means stop
Green means go
Yellow's always something in between
I saw the signals; I see the signs
Never knowing what they mean
Ask my policeman
Ask my judge
Write me a ticket or give some other nudge
But look a little closer and you'll find...
I'm just colourblind
We send the soldiers on their way
They've got the orders to kill another day
Some insurrection, fields of war
Never knowing nothing of the thing we're fighting for
It's been a problem
It's a curse
Things we said are getting better always getting worse
Still, I wouldn't say that we're unkind...
We're just colourblind
[Bridge}:
Sometimes our perception is askew
What I see is not the same
As knowing what is true
So if I snub you when you go
It's not intended; I probably didn't know
Call me a moron, call me rude
The one I think I wanted now is with some other dude
That's not your problem
Not your play
We were making colors in a wholly different way
I guess I let her think I didn't mind...

Six AM hangover shock
I'm in the dunking booth again
Funeral was yesterday
today's another for a friend.
I can't see colors anymore,
you can have them Superman
and fly them over us tonight
the asteroid belts in your hands.
I saw all the grays this morning
fought them off for a few years
now they're like a part of me
to shoot me off from all my peers.
Opened up a can of Pepsi
wished this was a musical
where everyone else has a Pepsi
this is not that, this is hell.
Stumbled back into my nightmare's
throne and pulled my sheets back up.
You can save me Superman,
but likely you have given up.
But it's you who saved me
pretty lady
it's you who shook the black soot off
my eyes and gave me
colors never seen before
colors now I want them more
colors now I'm cool forever
colors now we're up all night.
colors now we'll never die
colors now we're cool forever
colors now Superman's dead
tyrant of the gunmetal sky
colors now Superman's dead
colors now we're cool forever.

Colourblind by the Worldly Self Assurance
i opened boxes in my basement hoping i would find trash and a few memories
some knick knacks and some throw backs to the day
i want to lose some weight, i want to make some space
but i spent the day consumed by so much sentiment
i read the letters from, i read the letters to i never sent
i photocopied, written in my earnest sloppy hand
and now i understand like i kicked down the door
the things that made me sad, the things that made me colorful before
and this one was for my sweetheart
this one was for the boys and
this one was for my brother
this one could crush a small town heart
but every damn thing i crafted, pubescent missives to business cards
serve to show that every life moves on
just don't lose your colour

Colourblind - Paco del Stinko
I am colourblind - And I'm sure that you don't mind
when I tell you that I see in more than black and white
I see shades of grey - I see tomorrow and today and yesterday
has gone away like the day turns into night
Whoa-oh-oh
We're all the same inside - Some good and bad you hide
some people do more of the other and they leave one half untried
And I see it all - The short the fat the tall and I know you could do better
and if you did you'd feel alright
Whoa-oh-oh
I see you for what you truly are
I don't care what race you are - Or if you drive a fancy car
or work a carniavl or even wear a sequined bra
Just don't be mean - Or selfish or obscene
but lend a hand to a fallen man don't kick him to the street
So pray to your gods - Or take your dog out for a walk
it doesn't matter what you do or what you think or talk
Just take a look around - Breathe in and then breathe out
because one day you'll be gone and won't come without a doubt
Whoa-oh-oh
Just be colourblind

Re: Nur Ein VI - Colourblind
My song uses colorblindness as a metaphor for lack of conscience. I would hasten to remind any other participants or judges who might be colorblind themselves that metaphor is specifically a comparison between two unlike things.
Jon Eric - Colourblind
If I could tie a rope around a rainbow
I'd do it in the beating of a heart
I'd climb until I made it to the apex
And perch atop the keystone of the arch
And I believe that I would take you with me
To survey over all the planet's zones
I'd like to show you all the pretty colors
But you don't even have no working
You don't even have no working cones
If I could paint a perfect prism
The spectrum shines from paper to your skin
I believe I'd aim in your direction
And hope a little color could sink in
It breaks my heart that you will never see it
A sadness I can feel deep in my bones
I wish that I could share each image with you
But you don't even have no working
You don't even have no working cones
And don't you think you could have loved me?
As much as you can love someone
Other people have seen everything
There's nothing new beneath the sun
Don't you think you could have loved me?
Apologize in dulcet tones
I would have shown you all my colors
But you don't have no working cones...
If I could see in ultraviolet
If I could see in infrared
Then maybe I could understand you
Make sense of everything you said
But there's no fighting with my conscience
It's heavier than seven hundred stones
I'd try and tell you what it looks like
But you don't even have no working
You don't even have no working cones

Re: Nur Ein VI - Colourblind
I am colourblind and I spell with proper British
I like to sing loud and clearly because I have a lyrical fetish.
I am colourblind. I'm pretty tone deaf, too.
But if you want to hear a song, I'm playing one for you.
If I were an archer, I'd miss with every shot.
No matter how hard I squint, I can't make out the dot.
If I were a painter, I'd paint you something dreary.
But due to my disability, you now will have to hear me.
(extended version outro)
I'm colourblind like a dog looking for a home.
One two colours - It's called monochrome.
I can't tell if I'm drinking Coke or something else.
But that's O.K. cause I'm rhyming like a northern Elf.
Rolling dice, are they green or could they be red?
If the stakes are high, I'll probably end up dead.
I keep a switch blade in my back pocket.
Just in case this place goes off like a NASA rocket.

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Colorblind - Frankie Big Face
I heard you think I'm blue
Crying my eyes out over you
Assumed a crude disguise
Of purple bruises and bloodshot eyes
Well, let me make this clear
There's no gray area here
You must be colorblind
Or maybe out of your mind
I bet you think I'm green
Wishing I had everything
That you took from me
The silverware and color TV
But living life in the red
Baby is better than sharing your bed
You must be colorblind
Or maybe out of your mind
You hide yourself
In the shadows of our darkest days
Now I think it's time
For you to step into the light
Use your second sight
Train the lens on your own face
You'll see you're white as a sheet
Scared to stand on your own two feet
Gripped and frozen with fear
Afraid to face your golden years
But at this rainbow's end
We both get to start again
You must be colorblind
Or you'll go out of your mind
I heard you think I'm blue
Crying my eyes out over you
Assumed a crude disguise
Of purple bruises and bloodshot eyes
Well, let me make this clear

Colourblind (Alt 80's Mix)
by John Kloberdanz
She wore red stripes
Blue polka dots
A skirt with yellow flowers
She's cute no matter what
Everything goes with everything
When your boyfriend's colourblind
Don't mind the shade
Or turn the wheel
Her curves are all that matters
Her smile's the closing deal
Laundry day isn't a problem
When your boyfriend's colourblind
He should try to pay attention
When the stylist does her hair
Her brand new shoes are pretty
He could notice what she wears
He looks away
When she's facing him
He's got some nerve
Her patience wearing thin
Boys will be boys
Even when they're colourblind

Colourblind
by Rabid Garfunkel
She stole the rainbows from the sky
And now she wears them in her eyes
But when she looks at me I'm breathless in surprise
Then she turns away, I'm colourblind
Her skin is drawn with ink and vine
I took a clipping to be mine
Little red flowers grow on both our backs entwined
Our shared garden ain't colourblind
Without her in my life I'd die
I don't think that I'd want to try
To go sans my best friend and partner in crime
My mourning eyes shut colourblind

Colorblind 1- the one we used
Hot pink tights with green fuzzy slippers
Too-small pants with three broken zippers
Someone I suspect is a stripper
In a leather thong
Neon orange hair- how attractive!
I think that shirt is radioactive
So many sequins it is refractive
And so very wrong
(bridge)
I watch them enter and I always find
A way to smile for the most part
At colorful people so colorblind
I greet each day here in Walmart
Red pimp suits and gold lycra mini’s
Should be worn by somebody skinny
If you want to look like a ninny
That’s a real good start!
All the happy crazy people here who come to Walmart
The song we didn't do...but which is a future potential one!
(Don't call me) Colorblind
I can see the sky of blue
Though I can’t see every hue
There’s colors I can find
So don’t call me color blind
Yellow daffodils in spring
The color of a wedding ring
I don’t feel confined
So don’t call me color blind
I do not miss what I’ve never seen
And maybe it can be true
There are some colors just here for me
Which are unseen by you!
Hear that bluebird singing sweet
Feel the yellow sun warm me with heat
I have peace of mind
So don’t call me colorblind
Hot pink tights with green fuzzy slippers
Too-small pants with three broken zippers

by Pop Machine
There are none so blind as those who will not see
The beauty of the forest for the leaves on the trees
The odor of the camenbert o’er stink of the brie
Stinky yellow brie
There once was a lad born late in the day
He was Blinde like the rest and his mother did say
When you become a man you must find your own way
Find your own way
So young Coulover did set out from his home
To the city of London he finally did roam
To seek out his fortune in the city of stone
Cold gray stone
Refrain:
Oh, Mother! Oh, Father! Oh, Sister! Oh, Brother!
And then one day he met a girl
She took him on a trip around the world
And when she got his flag unfurled
He gave her his pearls
But she sighed sadly and said “Though I love you,
I’m promised to another and cannot be true.”
He knew because he was poor he would always be blue
Tangled up in blue
And then he met a man who seemed quite nice
He said “I can make your dreams come true for a small price
Just sign on the line and don’t think twice”
Don’t think twice
His love cried to him “Fool, did you not know?
That man is the devil and he bought your soul!
You traded my pure love for a heart of coal!
Sooty black coal!”
Refrain:
Oh, Mother! Oh, Father! Oh, Sister! Oh, Brother!
Now poor Coulo R. Blind resides in Hell
He has learned his lesson painfully well
As he peeps through the blinds of his prison cell
Forever doomed to watch his lovely belle
He can see but cannot taste, touch or smell
Her lovely form and he must dwell
On what he lost and what you can’t sell
He tried to fly but finally fell...
ColourBlind
ColourBlind
Somehow we are all...
Colourblind.
ColourBlind
Poor ColourBlind
Somehow we are all...
Colourblind.
Thus ends the story of Sir Colouver Roderick Blinde.

Am I seein red?
I orange so sure
Am I seein red?
I orange so sure
The color's mixed up
and I'm getting bluer
Am i seein Green?
I orange so sure
Am i seein Green?
I orange so sure
The Colors Mixed up,
and I'm getting bluer
Yeah...
I went down to that DMV.
Had to get my license renewed.
Man said I got 20/20 but I can't see straight.
I don't know what to do
I gotta get the license, but they pull it on you
Don't know how I'm gonna drive because…
All the stoplights are all upside down.
I got those colorblind blues.
Oh Yeah...

Feel me, hold me
Take control
Restrain me, choke me
Don't let go
She says tie me up, tie me up
Tie me just as tight as you can
Fold me once, fold me twice
Be my origami man
Break me, use me
Do what you will
Please tug on my hair,
She said tug on my hair
I'm just a horny colorblind girl
Girl you, wear me
To the bone
you might just kill me
But let's keep goin'
Are you man enough
Are you man enough
are you man enough to sin
Can you rattle my cage
Can you battle my rage
Make me see colors again
Rock me, roll me
I'm almost there
I see the fireworks,
See the fireworks
Rockets bursting in the air.

I can’t remember
what it was like to be a child
asleep and safe from harm
Why do our memories blur
from technicolor prisms
to washed out grey?
You’re like a picture
from a dream that I hold dear
I want to wake up next to you.
In the morning shadows
your silhouette is perfect
and I’m in love.
So draw the curtains tight
I don’t want to see the world outside
We’ll let the day roll by
And watch the evening rise
Can’t take the stars from my eyes
And there’s no place for my heart to hide
Though the years pass away
And all our colours start to fade
You’re still mine
Red leaves of Autumn
rustle and whisper in my ear
Like a lover leaving town
I hate to see you go
Lost in Winter’s cover
I dont want the cold
My love is changing
but I can see you as you are
your vivid, painted heart
If I was colourblind
and robbed of all your shades
I could still feel your smile.

Colourblind

He's not colourblind
He just sees everything in black and white
With or against and wrong or right
There are no shades of gray
He don't see things like the rest of us
Disequilibrium will cause a fuss
It's always been that way, it always must
Until his dying day
And someday I'd like to make him wear those emerald shades
To see the things he's missing, when he looks at things that way
He's not colourblind
Just turns a blind eye, never pays no nevermind
What a waste of all the light that shines
From the sun
He claims he never had no need for that
That things are clearer if you shut it out
Already knows what he things about it
He's not the only one
They draw inside the lines they draw, if you cross it you better run
128 colors of crayon and they're only using one
Maybe someday they'll come around
And get their feet back down here on the ground
Open up their eyes and look around
Who knows what they'd find
Until that day I'm keeping hope alive
Though sometimes I don't know why
Prob'ly a waste of my time to try
He might as well be colourblind

Everything's black or white
There is nothing else
I'm colourblind
Freak of nature
I look around and see
Nothing noteworthy
What is life worth
When all colour is absent
Show me the rainbow
Monochromatic king
Everything's black or white
There is nothing else
I'm colourblind
Freak of nature
Give me back my sight
Give me back my sight
I can't see the light
I'm colourblind

Re: Nur Ein VI - Colourblind
Colorblind
i'm a white, american girl
and i'm not allowed to complain...
complaining is rather bad form
..complaining just makes me a pain
i guess i complain anyway, all while saying
nothing.
I move through the world-
pleased pink and positive
i've been called insane
intimations thrown out
like I spend all this time planning to make things
difficult, uncomfortable, hard, messy; torn up, ripped away
and defaced
I've got it all...
I've got it easily
I should responsibly give back what I borrowed
my future the roof on my head
my perkiness bought me the car the money and the bed
...to put it all in
I reap what our ancestors sowed
And I see you seeing me read between lines
I remember the things I've been showed
But I tend to forget that I'm
old enough to know better
I forget that I'm rich and you're poor
I forget that what's black and what's white
I forget who is wrong who is right
and I love you
So I made a world
for myself
where I get to.
I made my rights
and you dare
to resent me in all of your proudness and might
but I worked my
ass off for freedom and air
you could let it surround you
you could stand up and care
so if I love you
and you remain in your cage
point out my station like it set your wage
well.. that's not my problem
I will not age like the rest
till the end of my bitter days.
I'm just you and you're just me
did it ever occur that we're here
cuz we're lucky and free
your body gets lit with delusional light-
leaves me..
colorblind
yeah, I'm the blind one I guess
& you're tight around your edges
and I'm too loose to test
and I'll continue... to choose to forget.
but you know...
it's their job to remind us
