That's Parkinson's Law. So it stands to reason that if you didn't write a song this week, it's because you didn't allot any time to it.
Corollary:
"Work contracts to fit the time allotted."
Same result. If you don't set time aside for it, you're not going to do it. This shit ain't magic.
