The Song Fight Bulletin Board

I just saw a mention of this somewhere recently. It's a plug-in that aims to make it so that you can mix on headphones but have it sound like you're in a real mixing room, with modeled delayed signals going to both ears plus reflected sound etc. They also offer head tracking via computer camera or an additional Bluetooh accessory that clips on to your headphones so you can move your head around in the virtual room. Has anybody tried anything like this? Seems potentially pretty cool, and the plugin seems cheap at $69.

I tried the demo and it's ok, though I just kind of had to go on faith that it would result in a better mix... and the headtracking is a gimmick in my opinion. If you're mixing you're going to try to sit in the sweetspot, not move around the room really, so I dunno why I'd want the thing to emulate turning my head and screwing up the balance.

But it's $150, so I'm going to just suffer. It was on sale recently, but not enough to make me pull the trigger. Maybe if it were $50...

I really like my Focusrite VRm box, though I don't use it as much as I used to. Switching between different speakers and rooms helped bring out different aspects of my mix and when I liked it on most of those things it seemed to translate well to other systems.
