Yahoo Media Player added to Prosilver theme

Post by jb » Fri Dec 30, 2011 11:22 am

Hello everyone,

I just added the Yahoo Media Player javascript to the footer of the Prosilver theme. Now, if there is a link to an MP3 on a thread, it will be playable inline. Like this:

http://johnorama.com/songs/fun_pop/I_Have_A_Friend.mp3
http://johnorama.com/songs/fun_pop/freaky_feelin.mp3

It should work for href tags too, so you might see a Play button next to some text:

I Have a Friend, His Name Is Glenn

On pages where there is media to play, you'll see the player available in the bottom left of your browser window. You can click it and there should be a playlist of everything linked on the page.

Also, a nice thing about doing it this way is that the Yahoo Media Player support for YouTube videos is way better than the 'youtube' BBCode command - so you can just link to YouTube normally and it'll make a pretty nice player show up when you click on the link. At least in theory.
