Roll Call: Tonight I'm going to practice with a bass player and a drummer that have been listening to my CD and learning my songs. God help me, I might actually have a live band! If it sounds good enough, we're gonna play this Friday at Milly's Tavern down in Manchester. And we're definitely going to be ready for SF:NYC.

QotD: Time isn't going anywhere. We're the ones that are moving.

It's right behind you, Jack, vanishing into the distance. Don't look back for too long, though because time is not linear, it's logarithmic. What's ahead is coming at you much faster than that stuff behind you did.

Am having trouble deciding which one of these two is the most intelligent answer.

I will be the first to admit that they are not mutually exclusive, my friend.

QotD: YMMV, but... I keep a journal (on my computer, but not public), and when I go back and read things from just a few months ago, it seems like forever. However much or little of it I have left, I am pleased to report that time has just been crawling along for me for years now.

DRC: I'm working on a song for "Mobile Home House Party," but it's a bit of a dumb take on the title, so we'll see how I feel about it when it's done-ish. My 7506s are in need of repair, so the overall tonal quality of this one may be weird, too.

Oh, y'know how I'm constantly bugging the fightmasters to host covers of songfight songs? JB has set me up with a temporary ftp login to upload whatever I can find to songfight and get them linked in. This will be for covers of songfight songs only (and maybe covers of AAD songs where they were done for the Secret Santa stuff, but NOT covers of things by other artists that might be a copyright issue). I'm gonna work on getting the songs from the King Arthur Lovefest uploaded and then put out the word to see what else can be collected... anyway, if that motivates anybody to do a few hxari, we're gonna see what we can preserve this way...

King,

If you send me a list of URLs once you get these things uploaded, I will update this page: http://www.songfight.org/sidefights.php so that we don't loose these things forever.

Which is why I shall commingle yours with Hoblits answer.

Here's how the hxaro page is shaping up:

http://www.songfight.net/covers/

I'm going to go through my collection of stuff and upload everything I have and then I'll put out the word for missing items. I know I'm missing a bunch of things from the Glenn Case Lovefest, but let me gather up what I can on my own first.

Hey, Charles, could you make a new thread in the Sidefights page for this Hxaro archive? It would seem silly to have to keep going back to this one particular day in the DRC to check up on it.

And hey, thanks for putting it all together. There's some real gems here that I'd never heard before. :D

That is very cool, Charles, and I am glad to see that a deserving cover is listed first ;)

I will make a new post in the sidefights forum in a few days. Give me a chance to get all the songs I have uploaded and the scripts for building the pages working...

some others of mine:

Outside Paradise (The Hell Yeahs) - Caravan Ray featuring Flvxxm Flvvrm
Fight The Sea (Heuristics+Starfinger) - Caravan Ray

I also did a cover of Marcus Kellis' Moscow Idaho long ago - but I don't seem to have a copy of it any more. Do you have it Marcus?

Let It Be (Chuck the Bear) covered by sausage boy
Friendly Fire (Niveous) covered by sausage boy

and I think thats it. Pathetic, really.

Roll call stuff!

It's hot here today, 42 degrees. And our air conditioner isn't working. Great stuff. I am going to cook like a, well... like a sausage when I go outside.
