My "band name" is Jon Eric. Yep, I'm pretty vanilla.
So my strategy is basically to do absolutely no thought on it until midnight tomorrow night, and then writewritewritewritewritewritewritewritewriterecord.
Get ready.....

Last year, I didn't write anything prior to February, but I had 'concepts' for each project that I thought of beforehand. The songs were more inspired by, than about, the following:
FAWM - the songs were about people that lived on my street.
RPM - storylines from old porno movies we used to watch when I was a young man in the army.
AAD - 12 songs inspired by what little I know of astrology: a song about a bull fight, "oh, this guy is a Leo, that's a lion", etc.
Knowing where you might want to go, even if not necessarily what you are going to do, might be a good idea, I think. Lots of luck and have fun, people!

I am actually attempting this, more just to try to get some songs done than to actually try to complete. I'll probably try to use a couple SF titles. I'm currently registered under the name It'll Be A Breeze.
I'm dense: what is RPM?

Ten songs during February, more of a focus on really recording (RPM seems to be an acronym for Record Producing Month). I think they will actually host songs, if that's an issue for you... yeah, at the end of February, you send them a CD (if you made the challenge) and they put it in their jukebox online.

I'll probably bow out of that one. Production is definitely not my strong suit. The appeal of FAWM to me is the same as it is for NaNoWriMo, which is that the emphasis is more on just getting something written than on beating your brains in to get it perfect.king_arthur wrote:http://www.rpmchallenge.com/

May the FAWM begin!
How everyone's doing so far. I've already written the lyrics to one song.

Just did the chorus and two verses of a "Why so serious?" take, which I plan to include into my FAWM project.
Plus I recorded a first version of the chorus to make sure I don't forget it...

I've got some segments of lyric for two songs. Not sure when sound will appear, but it's a start.

I'd never know it from your avatar!sausage boy wrote:all my songs for FAWM are themed around Half Life 2... because I'm a giant nerd!
I saw "King of Kong" today. Good movie and a must for any nerd. It's a documentary about the battle for the world record of Donkey Kong.
No, I'm not kidding.

Episode 2 is awesome, and has a genuinely shocking finale. I'll see how the Half Life 2 inspired FAWM goes, but maybe Episode 1 & 2 AADs would be appropriate.HeuristicsInc wrote:excellent, i was playing some episode 2 this afternoon!sausage boy wrote:all my songs for FAWM are themed around Half Life 2... because I'm a giant nerd!

The first song by Velykyi Rakovets, called He Who Stands Alone, is written.
