That's quite a task you've set for yourself.

You know, Wreckdom is up to 97 entries.

Why not try to record the best song ever instead?

i think right now i'm the songfighter with the longest current streak (all the way back to last april). melvin was a few fights ahead of me but he skipped a fight some time toward the end of last year. and yeah, i've entered crap to keep the streak going (see "and counting"), but the last few months i've managed to be able to record better songs in much less time with much less preparation. all this songfighting is making me more efficient and it's really paying off with fawm this year.

I'm most likely out this one. Laziness and all, ya know.

And I'm getting things together for this weekend--throwing a kickin' Rifftrax party.

why the hell are you people focusing on consecutive song-entry records instead of making good music? get a life and stop polluting songfight with crap that you admit is crap, okay? consecutive song entry records are stupid.

The consecutive entry goal had benefits for us, while we were doing it. It kept us recording. Good or bad, we put something down every week and sent it in. Some (some would say most) were crap. However, we did get better. Once we stopped after 26 weeks because our lyricists was getting married (in hindsight, what a stupid reason to stop), we have never gotten back into it with the same level of commitment. Everyone has a different reason for submitting to SongFight!

Some of us submit crap because crap is one level above what our usual level is. :P

So, to those of you who do this, - why send in something if you think it's crap?
Sometimes I submit songs that I know are crap from a production value perspective, but the song is just too good to pass up (see my "Cute Boots" entry this week, for instance), sometimes I submit songs that amuse the hell out of me even though I know nobody else will like them (see my "A & A" and "I Meant To Remember" entries) and sometimes I submit songs that I truly believe suck in every way, and yet I submit them anyway because I need to learn that it's okay to fail (see my "Pink Ribbon" entry under the pseudonym "Dave vs Mandy" and my "We Are All Made Of Strings" entry.)

At the end of the day, Songfight isn't really a competition, it's a songwriting motivational tool...and if you wait until you have a perfect song before releasing it into the wild, you'll never learn from your mistakes and you'll have very few songs under your belt. Far better, then, to take the lumps and thicken your skin as you learn what not to do.

In my opinion, anyway.

By the way, nice to know other people are FAWMing. I'd wondered about that; a coworker of mine wants to do the Feb album with me this year, and I just might take her up on it.

i wanted to re-do the lyrics/vocals a bit... but i wasn't able 2...
my mic damn done went out on me...
don't know if it's for good... it's been cuttin' in and out... just know it didn't work for quite a hot minute, so i gave up

however this is in the vein of both titles... only using this one... but about the other

I'm in.

No use of melodyne or any such, but I did write my own compressor/limiter in Jesusonic because I wanted to learn how they work.

Also, this is the first time I've submitted a VBR mp3.

Well, WAS throwing a kickin' rifftrax party. It got cancelled by way of 'family visitation this weekend'. Besides, some people couldn't make it anyhow, so it'll work to reschedule...

I hadn't decided about the Prequels. The two that i had already downloaded were 5th Element and Batman and Robin, both of which are insanely hilarious.

I'm out. I might end up sending in a (really, really, bad) 30-second WIP.
