Dear Niveous,

You had JBB's 'Sleep Walking' linked where his 'Unnatural Disaster' should have been.

I have fixed the links in the 'stream all' and on the songfight boards to where the file should be, but the audio isn't there.

You'll need to upload the audio and fix the livejournal link.

EDIT: Unless JBB didn't submit anything. He wouldn't have had to since he has immunity and all.

ROCK!

I am tardy, but have just sent a link to the nureinmaster. Good thing about immunity. Here is a link to it for your convenience:

I am giving up on using FL Studio as a full-fledged DAW. As aggravating as Cubase is, I have already paid a lot of those dues.
FL Studio is a great synth and drum machine, so I'll use it for that. It's also great for laying out the structure of a song. But the audio recording functionality is just a giant kludge and nearly impossible to deal with.

Now I have to pay for Cubase 4. I was hoping to avoid that. Ah well.

Frankie, wow! Love it. Great use of the challenge by rewinding the bridge, lol.
This title really brought the rock! I like every song entered.
The only ones I haven't heard yet are JB's and Bryan Kandel because they weren't working.

You might find Cubase Studio 4 sufficient (I did).

I have Cubase 4, and from what I can tell, a cheaper version like Cubase Studio 4 (or possibly even Cubase Essentials 4) would be good enough for average Song Fight! recording setups. If there isn't something specific in Cubase 4 that you know you are really going to need, you'd probably be well off with Studio at half the price...

adamadamant wrote:It's done! This is so stressful, I've been working hard on this entry. Despite some stunningly amateurish guitar playing and an invariably wobbly vocal track I think this is a pretty good song. Fingers crossed the judges like it this time, or else I guess I wasn't meant for the big leagues. Nur Ein!
That's a great song, man. Your hard work really paid off. Congrats.

Hmm, mine sounds a lot quieter than the others. That's disappointing. I had to record in a different way in order to get the non-optional challenge done, and I guess I didn't notice the low level of the end result. And in a field of songs this good, a production flub like that could well mean elimination.

This is a great great batch of songs.

I can't speak for the other judges, but I'm not going to rank someone's song lower because it was quieter than the other entries. It would definitely not be a deciding factor for me in whether or not I rank someone down in the elimination zone.

Yeah, and Adam! already said he applies some sort of level...uh, leveler to the songs before listening to make sure they're at the same relative volume.

I noticed that our songs were fairly quiet compared to the other entries in the first two fights, and You might notice that our entry is noticably louder this week. I found a plugin in the 'Help and How to' thread that did the trick.

It is called gclip, and it rocks my world.

Hey now . . . :)

It seems to be working now. I thought maybe I had been already eliminated.
