Yeah trackers can be a pain in the arse but it forces a different way of thinking about the song, which can be good. Nitro tracker can record samples from the ds microphone so I could have done the vocals too but it would have sounded terrible. It's a cool peice of kit and I've spent many bored afternoons creating whole songs just humming the instruments and tapping things for drums.fluffy wrote:I used Impulse Tracker for several of my early entries (and would painstakingly either cut my vocals up into samples, or try mixing them in later in CoolEdit). I don't miss those days, really. I think Husky Youth is the last one I did that way.

I'm in. I never seem to be able to push the volume too high without killing the dynamics, so I just get it as high as I can and try to stop it just before it turns to absolute crap. So be sure to turn up the volume if you listen to mine.

Weird, I did too, except I remembered to change the title when I submitted it. The lyrics still say "all we saw at the window" though.Märk wrote:Well, I feel stupid now. I wrote, recorded, and submitted a song called 'All We Saw At The Window'
It was inspired by the title, of course, but I neglected to double check what that title was. I'm not going to fix it and resend, though, because that would be retarded.

Crap..i did the same! I was too concerned with remembering it was 'at' and not 'out' or 'through'. Ah well, slap on the wrist for me...

Well this sucks.
I did a song for this - but when I sent it last night, it didn't go anywhere because the stupid webmail service I have been using the last few weeks has an attachment size limit of 2MB.
I suppose I am late now - but I am trying to send it now using my dial up service - but I think it may have the same problem. Stupid New Zealand. Why does it take 3 weeks to get broadband connected?

Ray: check out yahoo.com -- you can sign up for a free mail account with unlimited storage, and a 10MB limit for attachments. Even if you don't use it for anything but sending mp3s, it might be worth having one.

Also, Google's Gmail is pretty good. It does have a storage limit, but it's like 6800MB and it allows a 20MB attachment size.Eric Y. wrote:Ray: check out yahoo.com -- you can sign up for a free mail account with unlimited storage, and a 10MB limit for attachments. But I think CR's problem is dial up at the moment, until he gets his broadband.

I went through file-size problems with my provider, as well. For me, at least, that "file size" limit is based on the size of the ascii-encoded size of the song, not the mp3 file size... I had a 4mb file that got rejected even though the limit was supposed to be 5 mb (limit has since been raised to 10mb).
Okay, fixed as of 8:10 a.m. Oops, wrong thread...

I could be wrong, but also I think that if the recipient of the emailed file you're sending doesn't have a service that can receive the large file, it will bounce.king_arthur wrote:I went through file-size problems with my provider, as well.
