The couple of people who listed The Tick might be excited to know that it's finally coming out on DVD (29 Aug)
Woo! Okay, this is just the first season, and one episode is oddly missing, but I'm very excited. Thanks to my lovely wife for finding it.

I finally saw Metalocalypse. Someone lent me a DVD with all 20 1st season episodes, and I watched them all in one sitting. My stomach hurts from the laffin.
WHY THE HELL DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS CARTOON? I'd have gotten cable just for this.
"Ahh do co-CAIIINE!!"
"Ahh do a LOT of co-CAIINE!!"

Metalocalypse is great. They've got an album out featuring a lot of the songs from the show, though a lot of them are extended versions, sometimes a bit too much so, methinks. Speaking of cartoon network, you should check out Frisky Dingo if you haven't already. I'd say it's slightly more awesome than Metalocalypse... though certainly less metal.

Re: 3 Favorite Cartoons
Here I go, reviving old threads again...but that's what happens sometimes when you're new in the forums.
1. Dr. Katz...because improvised dialog is usually funnier than scripted dialog.
2. Home Movies...the earlier seasons had the same reason as #1. the later seasons still had character-based humor to fall back on, which leads me to...
3. King of the Hill...if you can't have improv, character-based humor is the next best thing.
I will say that KotH needs to call it quits soon though, before it's too late. They've recently resolved several running-gag-type dilemmas that certain characters have faced for almost the entire run of the show, and they've been making irreversable changes (including death) to some of the characters. I hope they quit while they're still (slightly) ahead.
