I'm 65% done, and wouldn't you know it, I've contracted voice-eating disease. I'm working up a metal-esque prog hybrid of some sort. It's quite possible it'll all collapse under the weight of ridiculous ambition..... But the exercise of trying to break through genre molds is proving quite fun. Wheee! :) Trying to get my head used to some new monitors as well, so hopefully the mix won't suck balls.

I already submitted. I'm sure I could have made it better if I kept working on it, but I don't anticipate having any more time to mess with it between now and Saturday. It's already better than most of my other entries.

Ya know, I was just thinking something similar, except I haven't sent mine in yet. I'm holding out in case I DO get home early!

Good news (perhaps): I'm in again! With more than just the lyrics I've already posted (I really love this fight's title), too. I've got nearly everything recorded so only a bit of finetuning is left.

I've got one written ... it all depends on whether or not I have the time to record it. Which is unlikely.

Ask and ye shall receive. Looking to give this entry a little more breadth and crunch than the last one.

This tune has been keeping me up at nights: written, arranged, re-written. Drum- and bass-tracks are down. Tomorrow: guitar and vox.

i'm in with an acoustic number i wrote and recorded the day the title was released (which was the last day of a certain song writing project i was attempting). due to my impending marriage later this month, i don't have the time to re-do or add anything to the acoustic demo. hopefully, now that the summer songwriting blitz is over i'll be able to spend more time on the each songfight song.

I feel like I'm half way there. But if I don't finish tonight it won't get there.

Did anyone pay you for that little sentence MR. Writer? Wouldn't want you writing anything of substance for free now.

What's the going rate these days..$.05 a word? Tell ya what, I'll give you a whole shiny loonie; and then u can head down to the local store and get yourself a nice bottle of "go fuck yourself."

hmm? Do we like that?

Even at a nickel a word, I'd be a rich man if I wrote half what you write. So ... uh ... go hump a fish. One that you found ... in the tank.

I tracked rhythm guitars and drums tonight ... this one is tough. I might have to do the rest before school tomorrow.

Dude, I can't believe I didn't even think of that concept. All I could think of was fish in a fish tank.
When I was a kid there was a guy who stole a tank out of the national armory and went driving around San Diego running over cars, knocking down telephone poles, etc. All this like a mile up the street my house. I thought that was super awesome, and was terribly sad when the cops shot the guy to death.

Anyway, yeah.... I'm going with the fish tank. Having never attempted that which is "metal" before, I decided to go ahead and try to write a death metal track based loosely on the film Finding Nemo. Only there's, you know, lots of death and suffering instead.

As it turns out, metal is kinda hard to play. But I'm on the road to something that'll pass as at least a light, low density metal. Lithium or something.

My mix is nearly finished - just some tweaking on the vocal levels and effects.

Oh, and mastering. But I don't do much when it comes to mastering, so that should be quick.

I have the vision for this title. Roughed it in this afternoon, and then my a-d converter freaked out. I was kind of pushing it.

Hopefully I'll drive over a few of the entries if I can lay it down tonight.

Oh ya and Leaf if you want I can get you a bottle of Westport. Boltoph's got one or at least had one.

Get on it, TT! Ha.

I'm done mine, relief! Maybe some last minute tweaks tonight...maybe not. Either way, finally. It's been a long time since I got into one of these by myself.
