Bela Fleck & the Flecktones - Little Worlds

Post by A Bootleg »

Only two words can describe this 3-disc set: fucking amazing. Not only do you have three CDs of Fleck and his band, but they've also collaborated with Chris Thile & Nickle Creek, the Allman Bros Band, Bernie Williams, Bobby McFerrin, and a host of others. I've been listening to it for the last 48 hours, nonstop. Incredible!
My other music is Old Time / shape note.

Better to see them live. Saw them in Flagstaff Arizona while driving through the southwest and it was a great show. Everyone in the band is a virtuoso musician. The bass player put on his own 15 min set in the middle of the show that was incredible, the saxophone player played two two saxophones at once, and the drummer, the three corner hat attired Future Man, played his own self constructed over-the-shoulder drum machine. Oh yeah and Bela Fleck plays a great banjo.

I gave away two studio albums, but kept the live one. I haven't seen them live but from the sound of it, that's the only way to go.

I caught 'em at the Kimmel in Philly a year or so back. They were travelling with this tabla player who was incredible. That instrument Future Man plays is the "Synth-Axe Drumitar," by the way. He's also invented a keyboard instrument based upon the periodic table of the elements.
My other music is Old Time / shape note.
