I'd like to take a vote though - do you want Reisty chill guitar driven love ballad? Or Reist ROCKLOVEBALLADWITHBALLS!!?F@#!?

Got some unused ideas kicking about that I think would be perfect.
Just need to whack out some lyrics...got some ideas but it's all muddled and unorganized.
Not to give too much away, but I hope for my sake a few voters out there are fans of Fu Manchu/Kyuss kinda Rock (or RAWK!)

First Thoughts: The grand story of the grand saga of a team of eleven eco-warriors/-terrorists "The Green Eleven"?
Also sounds like an appropriate title for some groovy grungy instrumental thing..
Of course it could be in 11/something time..

Is 11 in Roulette green? That was the only idea I came up with. I won't be in for this though. My mic died.

Well maybe I'll sit this fight out. Through my own mismanagement of my computer, I was forced to wipe my hard drive, and a simple oversight led to all the music I've made since October being lost forever. All the music except that which found its way online or to friends. But many works in progress are now gone.
Oh well. Worse things could happen.
But I feel pretty disheartened, and despite not having done anything for this fight already, I really don't feel like starting something right now, especially with a busy weekend coming up.

That's a real drag. Happened to me once. I wound up losing a lot of unfinished material that could have wound up being some of my best (or at least, more listenable) material ever.phetal wrote:Well maybe I'll sit this fight out. Just look at it as inspiration to write better and more listenable songs. Use your anger. I lost all my files once when I used PC. Back then I used it to make classic song like STFU and WTF Just Happened. You... probably wouldn't want to hear those songs.

"...when I used PC..." - In defense of my PC and PCs everywhere, this was most definitely user error.

Hey Gang,
This will be my first submission. I commited to writting a song no matter what the title. Crap, what a way to start!
Well, never one to back down from a challenge, I checked the title for the week last Sat. while in bed and within an hour I had the basic lyrics done. With this title I felt the lyrics had to come first. I took and environmental bent on the title and decided to do a kinda Neil Young attempt at it.
I look forward to doing more songs. I think this will help me improve by shear practice at the craft.
In case anybody is interested... here are the lyrics.
Green Eleven
By Larry Knox 2/24/09
Ver. 2.0
Verse 1:
Ignoring the warnings, our head in the sand
why we never saw it coming
Or security does not lie in the military hands
but on our ability to breath when we're drowning
We're into the red, beyond the bounds of nature
Filling our needs and ignoring the future
The sirens going off and is heard in the heavens
if red were 10... we're at Green Eleven
Chorus:
Green Eleven, can we ever go back
back to the days of a balanced planet
Green Eleven, facing the inevitable change
Can not live without it,
can't live long on it
Verse 2:
We'll leave this problem for our children to bare
when we're the one's who trashed it
The solution is found by just looking around
and clean up after we use it
Buy us a Prius and turn out the lights
and turn out our guilt while we're at it
We all can hope that we have a little more fight
to find the solution..... for Green Eleven
Green Eleven, can we ever go back
back to the days of a balanced planet
Green Eleven, facing the inevitable change
Can not live without it,
can't live long on it
Can not live without it,
can't live long on it
Green Eleven
Hope it helps to inpire you.
Larry

No big deal, but I see you're new, so I thought I'd mention it.

Hey Larry, Spud here. Normally, I act as the human spell check around here, but I am afraid in your case I am just not up for the challenge. You're on your own, buddy. Get it down to one or two per post, and I would be glad to help you out. Hope your music is better than your typing. Good luck in the fight.

It will help your spelling too. (Beat you to it Spud). Unless of course you mean you write songs while removing the fleece from your flock?Larry Knox wrote: I look forward to doing more songs. I think this will help me improve by shear practice at the craft.
Nevermind...welcome aboard. And nice title use.

EDIT:
Silly me!!! Of course I will never beat Spud to a spelling error! He has a sixth sense for these things!

You only beat me because I spent several minutes trying to decide the correct way to put punctuation around parentheses. I'm still not sure I really got it write. Shit, right. Damn - you put us under so much pressure Spud.
