John Stewart cruses Jim Cramer

Post by Sober »

Wow.

Definitely the most one-sided main event-type interview he's ever done. Cramer just isn't a debater. Maybe he feels guilty and wanted to stand and take his licks.

That was awsome.

(You've got an extra h in your thread title, though.)

I have to believe that this is cnbc's way of saving face. Furthermore it IS uncomfortable to watch as John states at the end of the segment. NOT what I want from a comedy show.

However, with that said there were a lot of good points made by Stewart (and his writing staff) that needed airing out. I think Cramer could have made points to show how it is not all just as black and white as all of that but in the end I don't think he would have even been on the show if that were expected of him. I think (as stated above) this was designed so that Cramer (representing CNBC) would 'take his licks' because this way it sort of looks like CBNC is kind of apologizing while also getting some extra publicity. From their most 'entertaining' guy's appearance on (arguably) the most popular news satire show in the country. (World? I wouldn't know)

I think it was a designed beat down for PR purposes all the way around. Maybe CNBC will now change their ways after this. Their chance for a new start after their CEO stash betrayed their trust. Maybe now they will use this incident to put the investigative work back in their journalism.
