Songfight Trivia!

Post by JonPorobil »

I was thinking about incorporating this into the sidefight I'm cooking up, but an adviser convinced me that it would unfairly handicap those who hadn't been here as long.

I've got some fun Songfight-related trivia questions to throw out here, though.

First up: Who started the first "Ye Olde Lyrics Archive" thread on the original Songfight forum?

Judges? ...Yeah, close enough. (Watch your typing there! )

Next question: Who recorded all the songs in the "It's Charging" fight?

(Others, feel free to throw in your own questions; I'm sure there's tons of stuff I don't know)

I may have been misinformed at some point, but... Well, it sure doesn't sound like drew's voice to me.

If this question becomes a point of controversy, then I don't know what we can do to prove it, though I suspect JB or Spud (the latter is out of the country right now) probably know. Then again, I thought Hoblit would know it, too, so... whoops?

I'll give it until 24 hours after I posed the question (3:35pm central time. About 14 hours from now) for someone to either a.) get it right, or b.) prove that Lunkhead, Denyer, and Hoblit were right. Then I'll just supply the answer I had in mind and move on to the next question.

Yes, I thought it was then-Fightmaster Narbotic. Anyways, the songs sound more like him than like drew, IMO.

We can continue to deconstruct that one, and if I'm wrong, I apologize for being a shoddy quizmaster, but I've got another, slightly less controversial question:

Although he didn't win any of the five fights he entered, there was some speculation that Alexander Molodkov was a celebrity entering under a pseudonym. Who was he suspected to be? (BONUS: and why?)

More questions, Generic!
I'm enjoying this. It's fun to travel memory lane sometimes. (I just read some Diesel Sweeties!)

Lunkhead gets a cookie!

(The reason why is, aside from the audible similarity to their voices, drew had recently met Flansburgh and had the opportunity to tell him about Songfight. Gave him the URL, said it sounded right up TMBG's alley, what with their whole song-a-day thing. I'm not sure of the exact time frame, but "Alexander" started submitting not too long after that.)

Next question:
In the years that "Title Suggestions" threads have existed, only two such titles have actually been used. Which titles were they, and who suggested them?

"I'm Outstanding" (suggested by John M.) & "Hold This For Me" (suggested by Generic).

Side note- Dr. Worm did not appear in the "I'm Outstanding" fight but Generic appeared in Hold This For Me, lead singing on the Suave Noise Youth song.
