I don't have a room yet. I think folks said there are some within walking distance. I'll check the "event" site.

Montvale seems all booked up that weekend.

JB, Glennny, and myself will all be at the Rodeway. Please stay there as well so we can party like frat brothers and sisters.

Rodeway Inn baby!

I figured I'd go cheap as I won't be in that room but for a couple of measly hours after the first night anyway.

I'll be gettin' in a little late on Friday night so I'll catch up with you at the show around 9:30pm. Hopefully I won't miss too much.

We will totally have to take over whatever gathering-spot amenities they have.

Is the wifi sanctioned by the Rodeway or is it just some random signal you picked up? (i.e. will I have to abuse my iPhone's tethering?)

Their services page says:
Services/Amenities in All Rooms:
...
* Computer Hook-up
Services/Amenities in Some Rooms:
While booking, please select room types that display these amenities.
...
* Free Wireless High Speed Internet Access
...
Which sounds like code to me for either an Ethernet jack or one of those extra modem jacks on the side of the phone; plus an access point that doesn't reach the whole hotel.

Oh, somehow I missed that on their site. Cool. I'm bringing an Ethernet cable just in case my room isn't covered (no modem on my laptop and no dialup account anywhere anyway) and it's easy to set up OSX to act as an access point, so in the event that someone doesn't see a sanctioned wifi signal but does see a 'songfight' access point, the password will be 'rockandrocker'

Ooh, they have a WAFFLE STATION

I am totally going to have waffles for breakfast

I thought I was getting in Thursday evening, turns out I'm getting in Thursday at like 10 a.m. So, uh, people get ready and stuff.

(If folks are available to rehearse with me Thursday, that would be good.)

(Also, I don't leave until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, so if anybody's sticking around you could see beautiful Spokane with me. Which will probably consist of finding the nearest movie theater.)

I leave early Monday morning, but that still leaves us a lazy Sunday...

Apparently by "waffle station" they mean "a pile of soggy, thawed-out Eggo waffles and a toaster." This is me right now: :( :( :(

The waffle gods should strike that place down. Any other alternatives?

I just made my connection to Denver, and have a 2 hour layover here in this lovely airport. They made me check my guitar so I can't practice, but there is that live fight to work on...

The waffle gods had considered smiting this hotel but they can't make up their mind about how.

Thanks for the review/warning!

I've got so much to do before I go to bed (early) tonight, can someone fly into Tampa real quick and help me pack?

The other warning is at least in our room you have to run the shower for 20 minutes before it gets warm, and by 'warm' I mean just that. Nothing like a lukewarm shower in the morning.

On the plus side I don't fear for my life like I did at the Downtowner, so that's a plus. Not sure it's worth the extra $65/night though.

Actually, I just turned the heat knob about 45 degrees clockwise and turned the water pressure way up, and I didn't have a problem.

Then again, I went second, so maybe we'll just have to see tomorrow...

So I get in around 11:30 pm. Anyone know the best way to get from the airport to the Rodeway inn? Taxi? Shuttle? Anyone want to pick me up?
