There is a precedent for this. Last year, the BeWells did just that, with brilliant results.
Of course, just because something was done before doesn't mean you shouldn't do it again. Novelty isn't everything.

(Not saying that's what you're saying at all, of course, but some people are all like "SIMPSONS ALREADY DID IT so I will not listen to this you RIPOFF PERSON")

I'm tired of waiting for official submission instructions so I"m just PMing my song URL to HeuristicsInc.

Now that's the spirit. Let 'er rip Fluffy... But contrary to the "Fuck That" song I created for that particular sidefight, I am a conformist so I'll wait.

i pm'd eddie; if he does not reply i guess i'll host it. in that case your pm will not have been in vain.

i'm gonna say let's just extend that ol' deadline to the 18th. won't help albatross, but the rest of us might benefit.
(including me, i have some music recorded but schrodinger's cold might delay my vocalage... and i saw enough people post that they were behind)

Still waiting for my voice to recover, I guess the extension is good. Either way, it'd be in on time. Oh, yes.

I'm not behind. Actually we are not behind, we're ahead. So I am still going to finish mixing in time for the 10th otherwise I will start meddling / fiddling and as Blue Lang once told me, my best stuff is done to a strict deadline. So the four songs for my giftee will appear on Sunday night, somewhere on that net we call inter. If that giftee can't wait, some healthy face to screen time will find them. Otherwise the 18th will come around a week later.

Well, I'm all done except for the mixing and mastering. I will be done by the original due date.

I hope my giftee appreciates the raw throat I've been left with. :D

I've been out for awhile and don't have time to read this entire thread. I've got the tune ready, just need to know the submission procedure.
Can anyone help me out?

I'm going to retract my previous statement. Mixing this track has taken on a life of its own, and rather than give my giftee a half-assed mix, I will use the generous time extension to get it right.

Bill,
I got deployed Sunday and had to send my cover to Swillington the recipient before leaving. You can find my submission on my website including the video if you're interested in seeing it. Cheers man and thanks for organizing this.

Writing from out there,

Gilles :)

As far as excuses go for early gifting, I think that one is perfectly acceptable. Good luck out there.

for the offiicial gom, submit a song only for your assignee, but after the due-date feel free to post cover versions of other people's lists onto this thread... not till after, though, since we don't know if that person's coverer is doing that song. and if the song you pick was assigned to a stiffer, then they get a song!
