One in a row is my record I guess. Put in a submission last week and fully expected to this week. Alas, it did not happen. Between having/organizing my 3 year olds birthday party, a few late work nights, and complete writers block, it was a tough week for recording.

I did however find time to listen through all of Jonathan Manns songs of the day. What a brilliant individual this guy is. WOW. "I Wanna Know Everyone" has been on heavy rotation in my home. I've got friends randomly yelling out "Cute Girl on a Cute Bike woah woah woah". Looks like he has a great submission for double take this week too. I tip my raised glass hat to ya Mann.

Good luck to all submitters this week. looking forward to hearing them all. Also looking forward to the new title so I can get back on board with a new submission.

Cheers,
Jake

Just a reminder of the file naming conventions, from the faq:

What do I name my file?

Name your file like so:

Suppose you are The John Benjamin Band and the title is "Look Good In Black":

johnbenjaminband_lgib.mp3

That's your band name, all lower case, all one word, not including "the", followed by an underscore, and then an acronym made of the words in the title you're submitting for (unless the title is a single word, in which case, use the whole word). If there is an "and" in your band name, replace it with "+".

For those who haven't quite got a grip on in, I will give you some examples of improper file names:

YourBandName_LGIB.mp3 (no caps, please)
http://www.yourbandsite.com/music/lookgoodinblack.mp3 (that's not an attachment, that's a link)
You Band Name - Look Good In Black.mp3 (don't even get me started)
yourbandname_Lgib.mp3 (thought you could sneak it in, eh?)

In case you are wondering, all of these are from this week.

There is no turning back, as I am in.

Chord progressions are for sellouts. Tonal drones are where it's at.

Your unfinished crap is better than the polished gems that most of us find worthy to submit.

Started with a blues line "Pour me a double/take away this beer" chased with a punk riff, and then went nowhere. Maybe it'll grow into something down the line, but alas, no entry for me.

Keeping my fingers crossed someone'll enter a taxation song, though.

Between my last post and today, went through 2 backing melodies, god knows how many lyrics... and then the three of us couldn't get together to record so... Instrumental piece! And if you find the double take inspired bits, you shall recieve a cookie!

Well, you know Ben Franklin's old saying: In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and penis.

Although I prefer the more eloquent original phrasing from Dan Defoe, "Things as certain as death and penis, can be more firmly believed."

Scratch that, I am in! Glenn Case warped the space time continuum and put together some awesome lyrics and vocals in record time.

I am SO sorry, Spud. I realized after reading this that I didn't change the name of mine to fit the specs. I have never (I think) done this before so I hope you won't beat me up too badly.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

The Breadbox will be in.

It's another incredibly lo-fi recording.

On the plus side? It clocks in at a whopping 1 minute 21 seconds.

So, even if you hate it, it's more of an auditory pin prick than extended sonic torture.
