A big thanx to everyone at Songfight

Post by Peter Andersson »

Hi!

My name is Peter Andersson and I live in Sweden. I'm writing to tell you that I love your site Songfight and that I'm giving it a month long shout out of link love to help others find it, I have about 200-300 visitors a day around the turn of the month when I update and I hope some of them will follow my advice and give you a look, you sure deserve it!

I'm a parody lyrics writer on occasion, that's how I found your site but that's not why I'm linking to it, that's because I'm a runner.

I collect music in the 70-100 BPM and 140-200 BPM ranges to use for 140-200 SPM (Steps Per Minute) when I run, as sort of a stamina aid. 140 SPM is very slow, 200 SPM is a full out sprint, inbetween that you'll work your way up through warm-ups to easy jog to threshold tempo running.

The very best music for this is mostly straight through BPM songs with double turnover, i.e an 80 BPM song with good drum drive makes great for 160 SPM use etc, though in the 1 for 1 area up 'til around 160 BPM for 160 SPM works pretty well to. Hence I've found songs on your site that I really like for this hobby, and of course for the lyrics etc too.

That is what the webpage I'm linking from is about. Here's the link to the latest monthly listing with songs from five of you (in addition to three last month and some more still in my try-out folder to maybe come in the months ahead):

As said above I'm also a parody lyrics writer, not so much today as I used to be (I used to hang out a lot on http://www.amiright.com, even won their Song of the Month twice, the only one not born with English as a native language to do that) but I still pen down the occasional idea if it works out to a well know original song.

I'm not a recording writer though, strictly word based puns and stuff, never had the time to get into home recordings and originally it was more than anything a hobby project to improve my English. Anyway, parody lyrics was what my webpage was about originally (technically it still is) before running and SPM took over. Seeing you guys here are into comedy lyrics you might wanna check that part out to, just shorten the URL above to end with dot com if so.

Once again, thanks for the site! // Peter Andersson
