inevitableguy wrote:I got a room at The Mosser...price wasn't too bad for being in the heart of downtown. Less than a block from BART, only about a mile from Mojito's, so I'll be able to ride/walk/stumble to and from the gigs.
Note that the Saturday gig is now at Abbey Tavern, which is nowhere near BART or Muni rail (but the #38 bus goes pretty much directly between the Mosser and the Abbey). Or I (or another local) can pick you up, car space permitting.
It's cool. I already checked the options and was planning on using the 38, anyway.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to count business days correctly. I ordered a transit pass thingy a week and a half ago assuming that it would get to me before I left. The website says "allow 5 to 7 business days for delivery." I just checked the calendar and (whoops) I actually ordered it only 6 business days ago (Curse you, Independence Day!) and it has not arrived yet. I'm leaving for the airport tomorrow morning before the mail will get here...
On a related note for SF locals, next week I will probably have a transit pass for sale if anyone wants it.

I'm surprised they'd sell one to you out-of-state anyway. I thought they only did web sales to California residents. The Muni site even specifically says that the weekly passes aren't buyable online at all.
They do have a pass sales booth in the Powell St station, which is right by the Mosser, for whatever it's worth.
Also, I'm pretty sure that weekly passes don't work on BART, so you're not really better off getting one anyway (they price them such that you have to ride like 4 busses a day to make it worthwhile).
It was one of those "Clipper Card" thing-a-ma-bobs where you put money on the card and it deducts the fare from your total only when you use it. It's good on BART and Muni and a few of the outlying Bay Area transit agencies as well. I'll probably try to pick another one up in person when I get there. We have a very similar program here in Seattle, and it's very convenient.

Oh! I've actually been trying to get a Clipper for a while but for whatever reason, my order always ends up getting fucked up. So I'll want to buy that one off of you. :)
I Priceline Negotiated my way into a discounted room at Hotel Whitcomb. Looks like I'm on my own, but I'm still up for a split if anyone wants to bunk up.
My flight leaves in the A.M. tomorrow. See you guys there!!!

Nope, you've got the place to yourself. I also sent you a P.M. to that effect.

After 90 minutes on the train, two and a half hours of sitting on the runway in Philly, a six-hour flight and an hour-long BART ride, I'm finally in Berkeley. Tired, but not grumpy! But hungry so I'm going to go find some food now.

Looking forward to hooking up tomorrow.
Weather supposed to be warm this weekend to out of town visitors. SF will be beautiful, in the 70's. Berkeley a little warmer, low 80's maybe. Check your PM about meeting.

I thought about you this morning as I walked past your hotel on my way to work. If I had known you were there I would have yelled your name or something.
See you soon!

Ha! I would have heard you too because despite being awake way too late last night, I was up ridiculously early today. I predict I will be falling asleep at the movies later today.
I'm in town. Hotel won't let me check in until 3pm, but I've just been walking around. Sitting at a cafe right now eating eggs and toast.
If anyone knows of any fun spots to check out within walking distance of my hotel (corner or Market & 9th) or if you're also bumming around town and want to meet up, let me know!

the library is nice, comfortable, air conditioned, and almost right across the street from you. good if you are shlepping all your shit right now too.
They let me check my backpack, but I'm still carrying around a laptop bag. Sounds nice. Thanks for the tips, guys!

If I used twitter, I probably would have been doing that for a while at this point.
